[ROM] JB 4.1.2 SlimRom for LS670 3.1 Build3

Build 3 is missing! I was hoping to get around what you did with the camera by downloading build 3 but it is not in your goo folders.

Oh, and yes, camera app was missing, but I was able to use Camera FV-5 but right after taking a picture the app would freeze until I exited. Pictures would save though.

Why not just download Build 4 and the camera fix.zip?

Tried your rom. Can't get past the Slimbean splash screen. Waited a full 20 min. Did a clean install. The only thing I might have done that wasn't strictly by the guide was to flash the rom, gapps, and the virgin mobile patch all in one shot. Any suggestions?

Flash them separately as the guide says. This very well could be your issue. I've run this rom on my V and it runs great.

I tried flashing just the rom and gapps. Same result. Any other ideas? How long should it take to boot the first time? Should I let it go an hour?

I'm using CWM v4.0.1.5 recovery. Is that a problem? If I need to update, can you recommend a recovery and direct me to a guide? I've been looking at recovery options but it's not very clear to me how to update recovery. I haven't changed it since I rooted my phone. Is there a lot of shagging around with copying files to the root of the sd, like busybox and superuser, and of course some kind of recovery image file? Changing recovery scares me. I've had good success recovering with this one? Also, my sd is currently set up to use link2sd. Not sure if that should be causing trouble or not. I would think not.

Try flashing just the rom. If it boots then reboot and flash gapps

tried that. Same result. I've seen references to the format of the SD card causing this if formatted fat32 and used with newer versions of Android, though my windows 7 card reader could not read it, so I assumed it was not. Guess I could try looking at it with a partition editor. I haven't looked at it since I set it up for use with link2sd over two years ago. I think that will be my next move. Thanks

1. Make sure your running a rom you know is reliable.
2. Boot to recovery
3. Flash COT universal installer
4. Reboot into recovery
5. Make a back-up
6. Wipe data/factory reset
7. Pre-flash wipe
8. Mounts menu format boot, system, data, cache, and dalvik cache.
9. Install desired rom, some roms require zips flashed in a particular order do exactly as instructed to.

COT 2.1 should flash anything up to 4.3 Jellybean. It's one of my favorite recoveries for the Optimus

Oh and the correct kernel Is included in the rom.

....

COT is a dead project. Best alternative (and my own personal favorite) is ZenGarden.

Umm.... Most of the recoveries used on the OV and OS could be considered dead projects. Zengarden is no longer under development either. The only one currently being worked on are needed to be able to flash Cm 11. I could recommend Techvendetta's TWRP but If he's not trying to flash kitkat it's a bit more complicated With its os2sd options. I've had better luck with COT than zengarden in the past and if the situation calls for it COT's fix boot loop option is far more reliable than zengardens

Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it.

One more question before I try upgrading my recovery. I don't really understand step 7. What is a Pre-flash wipe? Is it defined in step 8, or are 7 and 8 two different things?

Thanks again.

I guess I have another question. Step 4, reboot into recovery, is that the Reboot Recovery option in the advanced menu of recovery, or do you like power down and then boot into recovery?
