[ROM+Kernel] Inferior Human Organs unofficial CM7.1

Personally, I have no idea what the wifi bug is all about. I've been running this since the 7/30 build. My wifi connects quickly and has never dropped out. Stays rock solid the whole time I'm using it, which is most of the day when I'm at home.

Yeah, no wifi problems here either. I tested with both wifi off during sleep and always on.

Its a shame wifi is a 7.1 problem. I definetly have to go back to 7.0 then I use wifi for phone calls :/ great build otherwise and keep up the good work!

Wifi seems to be router dependent. My wifi works fine I'm some places but cuts in and out at home and the problem appears to be DHCP related. Using "Zakus WIFI Profiles," I have set up a profile to use a static IP at home and a dynamic IP when connecting to any other network. For me, this is a rock-solid workaround until the CM developers fix this bug.

Me thinks the folks with wifi problems have not wiped their partitions
(like /data in addition to the caches). Sure it takes extra time
loading back apps, but it is worth it.

I was having mms problems last week (sms worked, but could not send
or receive pics). I tried every permutation of build.prop
and apns-conf.xml to no avail. After formatting all partitions and doing a
cwm "Factory reset", mms magically worked again.

After mms tested ok, I used TiBackup to restore my sms messages, and
guess what? mms problems returned. Moral of story- stuff you left/backed-up
in /data may be hosing you.

Before installing this ROM and every ROM I wipe /cache, /system, /boot, and the partition as well as delvik afterwards. I don't see what the problem could be besides being router dependent (Running a Belkin N600 PLAY).

I noticed you didn't say you also did a CWM Factory Reset. Try it and report back.
Try using blarf's version of CWM too.

(needless to say, don't forget to nandroid backup first)

After flashing asop's recovery (the one that blarf uses) and flashes the latest build. Just about all my issues are gone.

You should always use the same recovery as the dev and maintainer of your Rom. It would have saved me so much time if I had the right one from the start.

I've got two things to say, test your **** and **** xda.

Well you know, telling us you're going to be more active at xda is like giving androidcentral the middle finger

The new recovery doesn't download. Just brings me to a page with a bunch of coding.

He's just making it easier to maintain and get coding done. I have an account over xda like many of us here do. When I get an internet connection I will join up at github and bug report there. I might even start my own Rom work based on this source.

It's not a smack in the face. Its an effort to go produce a better product.

For those that have no problems with this ROM can try my new build. Change-log and links located here: CM7 BobZ - Prepaid Android
For those that are having problems, please continue to use Jerry's build and reporting problems.

All credit goes to Blarf(the Dev)...please donate to his beer fund!

It's a lot easier to meet in one place as opposed to three or four. If he was gonna do any smacking he would not maintain the thread with updates.

I am also using a belkin router. When I am elsewhere that does not use a belkin, i do not notice this problem. Maybe this is not a CM bug so much as a belkin bug?

I had nothing but troubles with my old Belkin MIMO router, I received it as a gift so I kept trying to use it for months. Nothing would keep a connection, computers, PS3, Wii, my old BlackBerry. I switched to a different router and put dd-wrt on it, and I haven't had an issue since.

However Blarf is just trying to be more efficient. I dont really like how the people at xda are but ya know ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

After reading everything about recoveries being a possible WiFi causing issue. I installed CWM 3.0.2.4 then installed the latest build(wiping everything under the sun) hoping this would cure the problem. Rats! I still gotta WiFi issue of some sort, it's not a deal breaker with me. FYI I have a Lynksis router at the house.

Only one thing I'm going to say about this, then I expect the issue to be dropped.

He said he was going to be more active at XDA, known to be a developer's forum. This is where developers exchange ideas and code to make all ROMs better. It can only bring good results, it is not a smear of AC forums in any way.
