[ROM+Kernel] Inferior Human Organs unofficial CM7.1

I was wondering how differently you have implemented and saw the commit above. Why do you call that a typo fix?

That was my typo, not yours. When I originally added the code as you wrote it, I left it as setValueSummary instead of switching to setStringSummary. That's what I get for adding it at 2am.

Thanks for the function! I'm still exploring the various radio/baseband related ril, frameworks, and kernel files, but for now this works fine. ;)

For those saying stuff about mediafire on phones... the solution is that when you load the download page, you long-press the "download" button and then select open. It will download right the first time if you do that. I think its something about mediafire redirecting mobile devices, but when you long press, it forces the URL of the download.

+1^^

This is how I've always done it as well. On a PC, I rarely use a mouse (cntrl+* ;)), and when I do I use the right-click menu a lot. Long-pressing is the mobile equivalent of the right-click, and often gives you similar hidden options/features that make your usage a bit easier.

Jerry..I just had a brilliant idea for the updater! Any way you could add a push notification when a build comes out? Or have it check once a day/week for updates then display a notification?

I've debated this with myself and other devs since before I even started writing the updater. Push Notifications require a service to listen for them, or a polling system. A service can eat battery life, and a polling system is considered inefficient by most. Both require a shared or dedicated server, which of course costs, so for the sake of my wallet and to prevent arguments, please just click the BacksideUpdater icon once every three or four days. :-$

Question about the new recovery and Rom. Which do I flash first? And do I just flash the new recovery in my current version of CWM?

Do not use CWM. Flash the recovery through backside updater, terminal, adb, or find flash gui in the market.

If you are currently running a newer version of BACKside you can use BACKside updater to flash the new recovery and the new version of BACKside rom.

If you are on a different rom you can flash the new recovery via terminal emulator. Download the recovery and place it on your sdcard. I always find it easier to rename the file to something short like r.img or something easy. Open terminal and type

su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/name of recovery.img

Once you flash the new recovery reboot into recovery, wipe and flash BACKside rom

I should have been more specific about the install procedure.

If you want to use the auto-install features, flash the new BACKside first, then the new CWM-Green-recovery. ;)

Jerry,

Have looked into the square app problem with the card reader? It has been totally lost since the beginning of the year.

Thanks,
Gerald

New build of BACKside-IHO is up, and new CWM-Green-recovery too!

Download And Install viat the BacksideUpdater in your app drawer.

Changes: Synced with CM and cherry-picked some changes
-- Default keyboard now has option to use volume keys to move the cursor
-- Added snooze times to Calendar alarm events
-- Contacts now have individual call histories
-- Added format option to T9Dialer
-- Fixed typo that prevented baseband from showing under Settings>>About Phone
---- BacksideUpdater Backup/Restore Options!!!
-- Added the ability to automatically backup
-- Added the ability to automatically restore (CWM compatible backups only)
-- Added option for full wipe and format before automatic installation
-- Added the ability to automatically install any ROM or Theme zip file
----Note: Automatic functions require CWM-Green-Recovery V3.3+

This should be one of the last updates to CWM-Green for a while. I may add touchscreen support at some time in the future, but the basic code seems pretty stable now.

Thanks as always to Blarf, BobZhome, mrg666, tdm, LeslieAnn, Whyzor, bigsupersquid, thekraven, the CM team, the AOSP team, and a whole lot more! ;)
I've been having a problem with this rom and it bad because I like listening to music. What it is after a certain amount of time, my phone will slow down to the point of unresponse and a semi-freeze. Can someone find out what's causing this?

It would help if you could post a logcat taken right after this happens. ;)

I'm experiencing the same exact thing

l can also confirm that. But it only happens with Google Play Music from the Google Play Store. If you use the built in Music.app in Gingerbread, there is no problem. So, this is not a ROM problem. I have deleted Google Play Music from my phone and reverted back to the default Music app which is much more responsive and does everything I need.

So Jerry a bit off topic but I've got to ask. With the ics roms appearing, will u be cooking anything up?

I'm pretty sure I read Jerry is cooking up some ICS goodness

MiRaGe 05042012

I have uploaded the 05042012 build of MiRaGe to the IHO Wiki.
Followings are the main changes from CM repo sync. You can find details of the changes in CM repo at this link.
- Applying theming to more framework items
- Restrict zygote to system user
- init.rc: update the permission of /data/local

I have also updated the kernel with the following changes over Bob's V3.7 kernel
- Compiled with gcc 4.7 for better performance
- added rtc updates from LG's ZV9 kernel source
- added Hitachi screen driver update from LG's ZV9 kernel update

Preliminary testing shows that there is improvement (if not fixed) in the reboot problem of the phones with ZV9 radio update. It would be very useful if you can post your feedback regarding this problem.

The same ROM modified for Verizon Network is also available here. MD5sum: a78c68b2216577a53e5830d25383b487

As always thanks to Blarf, Bob, Jerry, LeslieAnn, tdm, thekraven, gannon5197, tvall, bigsupersquid, Whyzor, Earthnfire78, and all of the CM team.

Does this new build have the option to use the volume buttons to move the cursor on the stock keyboard?
