[ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO (07132013)

I did a mistake and caused the sound problem in video recording while fixing the headset buttons. I have uploaded the 06232012 kernel to my github repo. Can you please try it? It should fix the sound problem.

Downloading now. I'll let you know.

Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

I remember hearing about an issue like this in the IHO thread. Trying turning the camera shutter sound off, and see what that does. And I know, you're talking about the camcorder, not the camera, but I heard that this works.

You remember correct but disabling the shutter sound is not necessary anymore.

Edit: I was doing more testing and I have found that it still possible to break the sound in video recording if I simply plug in the headphones and pull out before starting the camera app. There are two ways to resolve this temporarily. If you do a quick reboot in Links2SD (it takes 15-20 seconds) camera records video with sound after that. If you disable the shutter sound in camera, this problem does not happen.

I am looking into this and will post here when I can find a permanent solution. Since quick reboot does not reboot the kernel, I am thinking the fix could be in the Android OS. It would be great if you know and post a link to any discussion about such a problem in another CM7 system.

Flashed the 6/21 build and just to be safe reflashed GAPPS. Rebooted and contacts were there and everything runs fine. Thanks mrg666 for a great ROM and great support.

What's with the linario kernel? I didn't think anyone was using it yet due to stability issues

Different version of what? There is only one mrg kernel isnt there?

Also, CPU scaling is all messed up on his rom. Its all maxed out.? Which would give terrible battery life? How is that a good setup?

Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

I have been using the Linaro toolchain for compiling the kernel since many months now. The compatibility issues are with the Android OS.

You have no idea what you are talking about and you will be ignored in this thread from now on.

cmon man thats harsh... everyone has to learn somehow. and by a different version, i meant a different version of linaro. the toolchain used to compile his kernel.

In ics roms, tdm, and thekraven say its not stable

Re: [ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO

Inceyet's screenshot that started this nonsense shows the file /proc/version which only reports the kernel build information. It is written on the image: "Kernel Info". This only means that Linaro toolchain is used for compiling the kernel. Both Bob and I have been using linaro for compiling the kernel since forever. Bob and tdm's comments that you refer is about building the ROM. Don't you seriously know the difference between building a Linux kernel and Android ROM?

This is true, but they were using linaro to do it.

BTW I reported your post. That attitude should not happen, especially coming from a dev.

No, I'm sorry I don't. I'm relatively new into android development. I'm windows certified asshat, I'm not an idiot.
When I said something looked wrong, I was comparing his screenshot vs yours. For best battery life I would assume over 90% at the highest CPU would be great performance at all times, but again assuming as such it would kill the battery.
you did a good job on this rom, but it doesn't mean you get to have an attitude. I'll be switching roms, I'm not supporting someone who acts in unprofessional manors.
Remember, this is all free open-source. Were here to learn and have fun. Your not perfect, otherwise you wouldn't have to keep updating because it would be done right in the first place.

Most of this is true to. But leslieann has tested and shown that OC improves battery life on our phoe

Why I would be wise to give LesslieAnn credit for many things here at AC, I would say Mmarz should get credit for lots of the battery testing on our Optimus V's. Even if he no longer frequents these boards.
