[ROM] midNIGHT ROM v4.2 (BYOR Edition) CW3 Redirector/EXT4 and CIQ Removed 3/9/2011

I also had quite a few problems with 3.3 even after the aforementioned wipes. Lots of FCs with the initial google setup, lost control of the buttons with intermittent vibrations, lockups, and the flashing android logo thing in the middle. pulled the battery, then went back to 3.2 and its perfect again. will check on here for updates

Next time boot into CWM3 and select Fix Permissions. See if that does the trick

tried to fix permissions several times. I'm downloading the zip again and will try it. Looked for older versions but couldn't find them.

Thats the best suggestion I have next to reflashing. As far as older versions I can't help you there.

Word of advice, I usually will download any ROMs I might be interested in even if its not at this moment in time and save them on my computer or sdcard for later use. Its becoming more common now the devs aren't leaving old versions up for very long.

I have run this rom for 2 days and only have one issue. In the email app I cant scroll sideways and click on any hyperlinks. Looking now for the standard email app to try.

Anyone have any odea why the hyperlinks in my email wont work? It is the gingerbread email app from the folder included in the zip.

Nice catch. The stock email is in the midNIGHT Extras folder. Yup can flash the but you should wipe the cache and the wipe the email data after boot if you see a FC.. sorry about that I just noticed that as well.

Having issues with camera and video camera. Not clear I start to record and if the kids move around all you see are tracers and cant see the kids. It happens with movement. How can I fix that. The camera and camera firmware are version 1.0 Is there a different video camera or version I can use to record. Thank You

I finally got 3.3 up and running. I noticed that in the privacy section of the phone setup the stuff where the google app sync was missing. I just manually put my apps back but I thought that was part of dk28, is this something different?

Thank you medic

I just wanted to Thank you Medic for all the hard work and long hours you put in so that WE can have the best ROM there is.
I love this rom.

I followed your directions for 3.3 but didnt wipe,,, It worked perfectly.
Thanks again for all your work.

fixed it. I just deleted the camera.apk and camera firmware.apk from 3.3 and copied camera.apk and camera firmware.apk from 3.1 and pasted in 3.3. Everything workd perfect. Thanks for the awesome ROM

Adding apps to sd card feature to MIDNIGHT rom?

Are the bluetooth issues resolved with the new 4.1 update?

This will be home to the midNIGHT Themes (edify compatible)

[Please note the "a" in each version reflects the stock lock screen]

midNIGHT Theme v3a Stock Battery Icon 1% mod (Stock LOCK) (Edify friendly)

I have a stock EB13 that has been rooted via oneclickroot cwm 2.5.5 - no roms or kernels except stock, the only that I have done is install the camera/video lag fix and the calibration slow rotation screen fix.

Is there a way for me to get this battery mod on my phone, or do I have to use oneclickroot cwm 3.0 and install a rom.

I preferably would just like to add this battery function mod, as my phone runs perfect as it is and I need it as my daily driver, NOT daily tweaking if you know what I mean.

Thanks! :D

You can either convert over to EXT4/CWM3.0.0.6 and flash the ROM or you can PM the dev of the midNIGHT ROM and see if he can whip up a flashable zip of a stock "framework-res.apk" with just that battery mod added.

Edit: Give me a hour or so and I will have one posted for you. We aim to please at Android Central.

Wow! that was fast - quick question though, I already have a battery app that displays the percentages - I thought if I could get rid of that and have the % inside the stock battery icon, it will give me more room on my notification bar.

With that being said, I know the battery gauge is woefully in-accurate as a visual aide, as long as the percent is accurate like my other percent indicator that is ok, but will your modification also make the visual aspect more accurate also?

Oh on a seperate note would it be possible to have an option switch to change the notification bar from dark gray to black? Just curious and not needed - the percent in the battery is what I am looking for.

Thanks again for the super fast response!

I believe this is the same battery mod you see in the midNIGHT screen shot. Its basically the stock battery meter with a accurate battery percentage displayed in the middle of the icon.

Only way to "switch" color status bar/notification is to have a different colored one to flash.

As always, make a backup in CWM just in case of the unknown. Then flash the file below.

Stock Framework w/stock battery meter w/percentage display (Flash in CWM2)

Enjoy.
