[ROM] midNIGHT ROM v4.2 (BYOR Edition) CW3 Redirector/EXT4 and CIQ Removed 3/9/2011

PFT, in layman's terms, can you tell me the difference between 2.9.2 and 2.9.3? I just set up 2.9.2 literally yesterday, and it's been awesome so far. Just curious if I should considering upgrading again a day later or wait?

Separate question... I've been bouncing around several different ROMs, and generally find myself coming back to yours... they have everything I want built in, are fast, and well layed out... how much do you need to keep an Epic and keep developing? Aside from donations to you for your family's cause, which I know I and others will continue to make, I'm curious how much you'd need in a separate pot to keep even a used Epic for development purposes? I know it's only a hobby, but reading your blog, also seems like it's one of the only things keeping you sane right now, so I'd hate to see you have to give it up purely for financial reasons... feel free to PM me if you don't want to respond in the open forum...

Thanks again for the great development work!

Wow that is nice thing your offering. Yes I completely agree, in this situation his development work is obviously a way for him to defuse or unwind day after day. I am very impressed with ptfdmedic's work and do hate to see him have to give it up at some point. I started following pt, when I first checked out his ROMs only to find out my wife (a nurse) had been following his wife on FB or Twitter (maybe both) for months prior to all this. She said it is a incredible story what these two parents go threw day after day...

Thumbs up to you friend for such an offer.

What does the midnight ROM look like, I have been reading alot about it??

The newest version v3.0 is very clean, it has all the bloatware stripped out of it. The ROM is setup so you can add what you want. All available to download/flash from the same page as the ROM.

All stock looking theme except for a modified AMLauncher (same launcher in Truly Epic Rebirth).

Speed tests, well here's what I got today when I ran Quadrant. My results

Its a nice ROM, very simple and clean layout with no fancy stuff just like Truly Epic Rebirth if your a fan of TER you will like this ROM to.

I really like the TER rom, very clean and snappy, haven't had a problem with it yet. Also, the menu scroll thing lol don't know how else to say it, is pretty cool...would I still be able to put some of the Sprint apps that I use back on?!?

Yes you can put anything you like on there. You can flash the same Restore Sprint Apps, if you got it from the TER thread.

The only difference in the AMLauncher on the apps list, the scroll is still there but at the top and bottom where it would go off screen and give you that rolodex illusion has been taken away. Otherwise it still works the same.

Awww I really like that feature... :( but oooo well it comes down to either flashy or performance soo idk yet

Thanks for the info!!!

Don't worry, you can download and flash the same AMLauncher used in TrulyEpic Rebirth! Its on the list, go grab it.

Soo it the midnight rom a ground up construction or is it based off some other rom???

It is also interesting to see the poll being conducted on xda about what the favorite roms(excluding cyanogen due it not being completely done)

I love this ROM. It's simple, snappy, smooth.

By the way, does anyone know how to make the experience of loading different ROMS less time consuming? I run titaniun backup to backup everything, then once the ROM is loaded, I run TB again and have to sit there and manually say "okay" to allow each app to install. I think this is the longest part.

Is there a way to have it auto install apps vs. manually saying yes?

Android Setup Wizard should be taking care of reinstalling your Market apps. Then have Titanium install any backed up data you might want back.

actually, this rom is running launcher pro right out of the gate which has the 3d app scrolling, you just have to enable it in the settings.

Yes your correct it has both Launcher Pro and a modified AMLauncher to choose from.

The Full version of Titanium will batch install backed up apps without having to hit ok for each one also. I usually just reload from Titanium. I wish I could stop the Android setup from restoring as it is quicker to restore from TB.

Also, Midnight v3 auto restores data so I didn't have to setup anything. It was all done when the ROM loaded. I havent had any problems yet with the data restore. I have heard nothing but people having problems with data restore so it makes me wonder why medic put that in, but seems to be working fine so far.

Now my only problem which i think is ROM related and has been happening since v2.xx is PowerAMP not playing over bluetooth. I love this ROM too much to switch to another to make sure that is the problem. But talking to others, I havent found anyone with the same problem on a diff ROM...oh well

Blue Circle Icon 1% Batt

ptfdmedic,

How hard would it be to get the blue circle icon 1% batt mod in a file by itself, without the slide lock and dial pad?

I have looked on your blog, tried several there and searched the forums, can't locate it.

Thanks,
