I did not see you say you installed the GAPPS, which you can do right after you install the ROM, but still that should not stop you from getting past the HTC logo.... did you follow THE GUIDE: http://forums.androidcentral.com/thunderbolt-rooting-roms-hacks/77350-guide-how-backup-restore-install-roms-thunderbolt.html???

Yeah, thats why i'm not sure. . .

I went step by step - backup, cleared out everything it said, installed from zip.

I didn't "install" the GAPPS right away. . .Just the "update-cm-7.1.1-Thunderbolt-signed"

My recommendation as I've always done... Boot into Recovery, Backup current ROM, Wipe Data, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache, Install CM7 ROM, Install GAPPS, boot up.

Okay - turns out I figured it out this morning.

So I had read elsewhere that you need to keep clockwork recovery up to date. So I installed the latest Rom Manager/etc.

Here is the leap I missed, I forgot to update the Recovery (via flash). I realized this when clockwork told me I still wasn't up to date. Okay - so I updated clockwork from version 3 something to current 5 something. I went from orange to blue background

BWAMO - CM7 is installed and working fine. I didn't get it to auto update my apps (?) so I'm selecting which ones I want (voice search, google voice, amazon app store, maps). Otherwise, no issues or concerns. I have 4G and a GPS lock.

So if someone upgrades and gets a white HTC screen and no further, maybe update clockwork. . .you can check that by running rom manager and at the top it says "current recovery" and "your installed one". Yeah - seems like a no brainer to you guys, but I never looked that hard at that text before going to "reboot into recovery"

That came out about 6 months about by most of the ROM developers... including CM7. And unfortunately most people that rooted their phone with Revolutionary got a very old version of Recovery flashed onto their devices... and as you know most don't look at that when they start flashing ROMs.

A couple of further questions for the experts out there...

I've been running cm7 for a while now without any major issues, but I have noticed a couple of quirks that I'm wondering if anyone has solved.

1 - my phone does not seem to be running in full dulex mode. During calls, if I am receiving audio, ie listening to someone else talk, my phone does not appear to be able to simultaneously transmit my voice to the person on the other end. I have to wait for them to stop talking. Anyone else having this issue?

2 - if I receive a text and do not check it, I do not get another alert if additional texts come in. Is there a setting that controls this?

Thanks in advance for any help!

So my wife "inadvertently" blocked my number on her bolt and now my calls go directly to voicemail. I see the option to block the calls on my contact record but it is unchecked. I have checked it, then unchecked it to no avail. Anyone else had an issue like this? She can't seem to unblock my number.

Has anyone out there had any problems using the mobile wifi hotspot feature with cm7? I can't seem to get it to work.

I had issues with getting it to work. To resolve the problem, I installed "Open Garden" from the Market and all is well again.
