[ROM] Quantum v2.7.0

If the official release of Froyo doesn't fix it, I'm sure once we get the source code a ROM can.

Just installed Quantum 1.5 and it's my first Froyo ROM, so apologize if this is a dumb question, but quick search did not find an answer... I can't seem to find anything similar to myfiles or file explorer pre-installed on this ROM... the issue is that I need to install Titanium Backup to reinstall my other files... it's on my SD card and I can't seem to navigate there without myfiles or file explorer... when I try to reinstall from clockwork I get some MD5 error (have never had much luck reinstalling clockwork backups)... I'm assuming I don't need to use Odin just to install Samsung MyFiles, so any quick advice would really be appreciated... Thx

1) You can download ASTRO File Manager or OI File Manager free from the market, both of which are similar to MyFiles.

2) ClockworkMod Recovery comes preinstalled with this ROM - you should be able to boot into it using ROM Manager or the manual 3-button-hold way.

Can you guys connect to 4g using this rom?
I was just in a 4g area that I've never been in - I just turned it in to see if I could connect well I was waiting for my dad and I could, so I wanted to test how fast it was. But I couldn't even get it to load a page with basically full bars.

Also how do I boot into clockwork? When I power off and on using the 3 button approach I get taken to stock recovery - which I normally do on 2.1 and then I hit apply update.zip from sd card to get into clockwork, but on this rom I get an error. Any ideas?

But yesterday I flashed a zip from viper roms themes for the blue battery fuel gauge using rom manager so I think I still have recovery.

I've used ROM Manager to boot into Clockwork multiple times.

OK thanks but I know that work, I'm wondering if the 3 grip works for anyone.

And my main/bigger question is the 4g part.
Is there any froyo rom with 4g working? I'm using 1.5 and it won't let the data do its thing. With 4g, I have nearly full bars and it wont do anything. Thought it was my phone, but 3g works fine.
Anyone else having problems with4g on this rom?

Is there a fix?
and is there any rom with working 4g?

I can connect to 4G with this ROM, but it is MUCH slower than 3G, and sometimes disconnects mid stream... and 3G on my older 2.1 Baked Snack 1.5 ROM was much zippier than 3G now on Quantum 1.5... other thing I noticed is no sound in ESPN radio... anybody else have this problem? There is no sound on the live streams, though if I click on sports center update, that seems to work fine... very strange...

Damn well idk what the deal is. Gonna try restoring back to quantum 1.5 as is.
I flashed a battery theme from viper roms thread on xda. The blue battery gas gauge and I think that may be why.

I think I'm gonna try the viper rom with a different theme.

Well upon further exam, I can confirm I am also having trouble with 4G on the Quantum ROM... it connects, but does not transfer data... I was able to get 4G working on Epic, except 2.0.01 still has issues with the market closing and not installing apps, so I can't even install speed test to try it out properly... I did use 4g with some websites on Epic though and it did work... I may try Viper as well at this point... I was hoping to be wowed by Froyo but so far got better performance with my old 2.1 Baked Snack... I know the chefs are doing a great job with what they have for 2.2, but it's tough and may always be buggy until we get official source code...

true. but boy am i glad your having problems with it too. haha

when you said it worked i was thinking the worst.
im going to download viper right now

Loving this ROM.
In setting up my Home screen, I'm trying to add the Program Manager Widget, but it's not under the Widgets options. Any idea how to get that on my home screen?

Will test this week, hopefully tomorrow, and let you know if I can get a 4G signal.

Thanks for getting back to me.
What party of los angeles doesn't get 4g?

Also do you mind explaining how to get to clockwork after applying thee modem and pit?

I get an error either way rom manager and the button hold

I'm actually in the San Fernando Valley, the suburbs of Los Angeles - we only get it in certain places here.

I didn't have to do anything with Clockwork, although I flashed the ACS Stock Froyo first (it was the only thing available at the time) and then Quantum if that makes a difference. You could try flashing these pit and tar files, as they have Clockwork built in.

flashed Quantum today. Love it! Very crisp and quick. Totally stable too. Not seeing any problems. Doubled my benchmark score in Quadrant.

I'm running Syndicate right now and have been looking for a new ROM. So should I go back to stock, flash the deodexed DK28, then Quantum? Or can I just backup, wipe, then flash Quantum? And if I go with the first option, do I HAVE to use Odin for this, or can I flash it with ROM Manager?
