Another update: Neither SetCPU or NoFrills will disable Smartass governor. Is there another way around it?

You don't disable it, you switch from smartass to ondemand. There is a list of available governors in a pull down menu. Select a different one.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. When I switch to OnDemand, it switches back to Smartass on both programs. I've tried rebooting (with the "apply on boot" box checked) and applying the change without a reboot and it invariably switches back to Smartass by itself.

If you have profiles set in setcpu, you need to disable those.

I just tried using setcpu and it worked past a reboot. I mean as long as you just change it and don't reboot the setting will stick.

Ok, I must be doing something wrong then. I'll figure it out. Other than this problem, I'm loving the new release. My battery life seems to be much improved. Thank you for your hard work.

I ended up just returning to 2.2.2, mainly because for some reason my music lockscreen player won't work on 2.2.3 but will on 2.2.2, not sure why. Any idea?

No idea, however if you are willing to sacrifice your camera and voice (which is mapped to call) buttons you could use the music controls zip in post 2 found via my signature. Gives you a way to play/pause and skip without even waking our screen

Wouldn't work for me since I use the buttons sometimes and I like the music players lockscreen. I just can't figure out why it works on the previous version.

Hi all. Question - Can I install a custom launcher with this ROM or will that cause issues?
I have v.2.2.2 and wanted to play around with a windows mango style launcher....

Reread the first post but didn't see anything, although I also slept horribly last night so I mighta missed it. (if anyone watches the news, my friends were killed by thier son in Port St Lucie the other night)

For some reason, after doing a complete wipe in Xionia.....I could not get a good flash of 2.2.3. The first time it came to setup wizard and kept force closing loop on me. Second time, it boot locked and never got to the unlock screen. Went back and wiped and flashed 2.2.2 and it came up fine.

I went to Shell ROM 2.1 to see how it works for a while. ReBorn has gotten real laggy lately, maybe the kernel or overlocking governor.


Any way to get the roaming apk from ReBorn so I can use it in Shell ROM? The old version out there says "LG Hidden Menu"

i have the 2.2.2 version. i just noticed that there is not a time in the text messaging so i have no idea what time messages were sent or received. is this normal?

edit: i just switched from 24hr format to a 12hr format and it shows up now. is that an known issue with this rom?

I just switched my time format back in force to check it and I have no issues either way

I think that is just how the app is. Long press the text and select details, that will give you the time.

To sum up, it appears that the collin_ph tweak is enabled by default without any intervention in Reborn 2.2.3? Was that the intention? Going from a perfectly working 2.2.2, after wiping cache and dalvik, then flashing 2.2.3, the frequencies according to SetCPU jump all over the place, and alogcat output shows the line "collin_ph: polling biatch" over and over. Any ideas? Thanks.
