ARCHIVED: [ROM] Reborn ROM v2.2.4 - 7/24/11

I have tried this new ROM out twice so far, and each time it runs perfect at the start. But after a few minutes, the entire phone locks up and the screen will shut off. There isn't a single button combination that can wake the phone. My only option is to pull the battery.

After pulling, it boots back up and works normally, but continues to freeze completely just minutes later. . .

Is anyone else having this sort of problem? I really want to stick with this ROM

(I don't think it's the overclocking, because I've always used setCPU at 748 before this ROM)

You are wiping data and everything before flashing the ROM right?

Yes. Did the reflash help though?

It seems to be running smoothly once again. But I tried booting into recovery to flash the other zip, and I've been stuck at the "Power off" popup for several minutes. Guess I'll have to remove the battery.

UPDATE: This did not fix the problem. After flashing the noIQagent and ButtonsWake zips, the phone decided to go into lockdown just minutes after booting back up. I noticed I lose all phone service before it locks up.

The surprising part is, I was listening to a song while the phone locked up. The screen went black and locked up, but the song kept playing until it finished. I don't think my phone can handle this particular ROM. . . . .

Love the new ROM!

This may have been asked numerous times so please excuse me, but is there a way to change the shortcuts using the LG Home Launcher? I love the launcher, I just would love to change some of the shortcuts on the bar.

Thanks.

Drag & Drop whatever app over the icon that you want to replace.

Side note: Great ROM! stable, and quick. I love it. The only thing I don't like is the keyboards. Swype takes up so much of the screen (awesome keyboard though) so I don't really use it, and the HTC KB seemed to kind of do it's own thing some of the time. I ended up just installing the Gingerbread KB, which is working well. I usually use the stock KB anyway.

Stoked to see future updates!

When the screen goes black, try holding the home or power button and see if it comes back on. You may have to try a few times.

It's not your phone. I wish could give a more technical answer but the simplest way to say it is that something probably wasn't done right... has your phone ever been damaged from overclocking, etc? I am really just trying to give you ideas here. it really sounds like your phone might have been previously damagedand is showing the signs now. other than those two reasons there should be no reason that your phone handles this ROM any different than the next LG. unless of course you received a defective phone when you purchased. which I would think that you would be aware of by now.

I know Iprobably didn't, but I hope I've given some sort of direction for you...

The funny part about it all, is that this is the one and only ROM I've ever had troubles with. I've used nROM more than any other because it is smooth for me, and I've always been clocked at 748 ever since rooting. Hopefully I haven't damaged anything, but I appreciate the thought!

Phone Idle 41%
Voice Calls 8%

99% battery

No juice defender. I have had the best battery life with this rom vs Zefie's CM7 and ThunderRom

I just had a pocket dial, and I noticed that my buttons are waking the phone even though I never flashed the buttonswake.zip, any other way I could have tripped this? I'm very confused?
