Go into Settings > Wireless and Networks > WiFi Settings > Advanced > WiFi Sleep Policy

From there you can set your wifi connection to go to sleep when your screen turns off.

Thanks. I will try that. Is this the default setting? I have never messed with that setting before.

No it's not the default. I was having the same problem and someone pointed this out to me. It greatly improved my battery life.

Just to clarify for both of you. If you are flashing from one ROM of the same build, in this case EB01, to another there is no need to wipe. So you don't have to reinstall apps and contacts. The process of flashing from one build to another does not, in itself, wipe data. Also, I think it's safe to say the majority of us do not flash to a different build using ROM Manager, we use ClockworkMod Recovery (cwm.) In fact earlier tonight I uninstalled Rom Manager

Thank you Mr Landshark, you're great. Thanks for the offer with help, I haven't gotten around to it because girls and liquor kept me away from my pc.. :-*

but I'll probably do it tomorrow... I mean in a few hours when i wake up!

I finally got around to flashing Super Clean EB01 2.4. My question is when I power on my phone the Galaxy S logo appears numerous times. Is this normal? Phone does boot but it just seemed weird to see that logo display about 2 - 3 times.

Thanks...

My weather and news widget just started displaying loading... Nothing seems to be happening. I was wondering if there is something wrong on my end our there end, because it used to work fine up until last night. I tried restarting and even a battery pull to no avail.

edit: somehow my background data got turned off. So disregard my post .Feel like an idiot now.

Yes, that is normal. No need to worry.

Thanks geocomp, you are correct. Just to add to that the big S and galaxy s logo that appear are the boot animation included with superclean 2.4. The boot animation from when you were at a stock build was the samsung logo then the verizon wireless logo flashing on the screen. This is just the boot animation that took replaces that one.

Has anyone else had trouble opening PDF's after flashing SC 2.4 --- I continue to get an error after downloading and then trying to open. I noticed that ThinkFree can't be restored with my Titanium Pro, it doesn't give me the option. Are these two things related? Thanks!

Do you have the Adobe Reader app installed on your phone?

Do not have it installed currently... I was use to ThinkFree handling my PDFs... Thanks

Yeah, sorry. I believe the superclean versions got rid of thinkfree. If you want to stick with superclean the only options you would have would be to get a hold of the thinkfree apk and install it, or download the adobe reader app.

If you want thinkfree just download the stock EB01 file and pull out the thinkdroid.apk file from the system/app folder in the zip and use root explorer or something to drop it in your system/app folder on your phone. I actually like thinkfree and I just added it after installing the Rom.

Just leave a copy in a folder on your sd card. You will need it every time you flash ;)

Sorry for the Noob questions but... How do I know if I do Voodoo or non voodoo? and where do you reccommend going for a walkthrough guide to get 2.2 on my fascinate, I am not waiting on Samsung any longer?

If you've never rooted your phone before it is strongly recommended you stick with nonvoodoo. You can find an easy all-in-one package and step by step walkthrough here:

I don't voodoo because I'm happy with my phone's speed right now, and I am a little worried about cooking my internal memory. I just don't know that it's worth the risk to me.

+1 on that. More than happy with how much faster my phone is with nonvoodoo EB01.

you wont cook you memory. its a filing system not a frying pan. if you dont want to, its your phone, so dont. i just dont want you to be misinformed. voodoo will not break your phone. your might brick your phone. but hey, who hasnt done that before, you dont even need voodoo to brick a phone.

can anyone confirm or deny that you can sync with exchange if you flash this into your phone? I want to be able to use the native calendar, email and contacts apps, not interested in touchdown.

Let me know. Thanks for the info.

I know that OWA works great with this version, the new (aosp i think) email app is a champ and setup is really easy.
