Sorry for the confusion everyone. I was out last night and it seemed wrong that because of Edify, the improvements/fixes I made would not be available.

So I made the patch.

The patch contains Chris3D's debinged browser, and my modified Samsung MMS. I backported the features from the eb16 app into the eb01 app, making a more feature rich app between the both of them.

To clear other things up:

Edify is merely a scripting language to install the rom. It doesn't affect usage past that (with an exception). Previously, I used Amend, as did most everyone else in the SF community.

Clockwork 3.0 only supports Edify, whereas before Amend and Edify were supported. So I am attempting to update all my stuff to Edify, for those who want to use Koush's new recovery.

The patch only provides two APKs, and will work fine with non voodoo or voodoo. It installs with Edify. The kernels, are still Amend, so you must use clockwork 2.5.x to install it, not the new 3.0.

The original Nonvoodoo snafu was entirely of my doing. I had accidently left a voodoo recovery in. Now, it didn't affect everyone, but I still feel bad about it, because some of those ended up using odin.

The voodoo rom worked fine with Edify, UNTIL it came time to convert to voodoo, or disable it. For some reason, the system will not mount, and you get a "system unavailable" from robo chick. This doesn't happen with Amend, which was used in 2.6 and before.

All of the patches are currently Edify ready. The kernels are not. Until I can figure this out, I will either:
Keep using Amend on my roms, or, stop including the kernel in the rom, and have the kernels use Amend.

MOST IMPORTANTLY:

If you have 2.7 installed and working, don't worry about it crapping out on you. The issues are ALL install related. So if you got past that, you are just fine.

hey adrynalyne, could you rename this update 2.8? you see i am still running the original 2.7 voodoo, and that made me feel special. but now that 2.7 is out again, i dont feel so special any more.

Just put superclean 2.7 LE (limited edition) as your ROM description like I did.

I was able to get past the install part, what I find weird is that when i go into recovery it is red 2.5.x, then I have to hit update.zip and it takes me to the orange 3.0.x CWM. I was also trying to install a different theme and it keeps giving me an error. I tried it using both the red and orange CWM, no dice with either. Is it because of the edify thing (CWM 3.0)? Shouldnt it work in the red 2.5 CWM though?

Does this mean that with SC2.7 I can use the stock mobile hotspot app without paying? If so, is there any advantage in using the stock app over Android Wifi Tether or Barnacle?

Hmmm... Well, today Backup Assistant is running just fine. I left the phone turned off all night so maybe that made a difference for some reason. It was probably sick of me messing with it! ;-)

I was stuck on some steps on ODIN, but I'm finally rooted with SuperClean 2.6.

So if I understand correctly, if you currently are on 2.6 all you need to do is install the patch to upgrade to 2.7 with disabled hotspot monitoring. If you have 2.5 or less it's better to flash the 2.7 rom.

Is this correct?

What was the error?

I went back into recovery and tried the theme using the red so I could tell you what the error was and this time it worked. My bad buddy. Last night though when I tried the first time through orange it gave me an error saying the script could not be read or something to that fact. Then I tried it with the red and it gave me a different error (cant replicate it since it worked). It is working fine now though. Thanks for these awesome Roms, I havent had one issue since using them.

The patches ARE the differences in 2.6 and 2.7, so if you run the patches (in red cw - I believe), then you essentially have 2.7. The non-voodoo rom is down right now, and will probably not exist because of the patch. Adryn will probably go right to 2.8.

I know at one time the change log for 2.7 referenced the fact the LG apps were removed due to them syncing even when not being used which resulted in a hit on battery life.

Essentially yes (you'll have everything that is 2.7). You just won't have a complete 2.7 rom if you ever wipe your data. It's basically like this:

You've got 2 quarters or you've got a half dollar. Both are the same in every way possible, but you've got them in different forms.
