but no it is not in the settings - havent seen an update on this rom in a LONG while and do not think we will as the dev did it for his GF's phone if I am remembering right. It's still lightyears ahead of stock so I am happy.

Thanks, that tether works great. I guess I was still living in the old Harmonia days back on the Optimus V when I thought the tether setting was under wireless and networks haha.

Im sorry if this has been asked before but does anyone have a CLEAN fresh nandroid backup of this rom? Ill take the original nandroid backup if anyone has that one. Please?

Your best bet is flashing the stock rom that's in some thread in this same forum.

Ok I found the thread for the stock rom but the link is down or something. Ill try a different browser to download it but if I do get a hold of it, will it allow me to erase all the data on the phone so it can be like brand new so I can give it away? I need to wipe this phone clean ..

You can wipe it from your recovery. Just wipe data, system, cache, and dalvik cache, then you flash the stock rom. If you still have trouble downloading it, use Opera Mobile. If the link really is dead, I'll try to upload it and send you a link.

Question, is it possible to remove the number by the battery status on top? My OCD keeps looking at it and it's kinda distracting, haha!

Please help, I followed the instructions on Rooting and installing custom recovery. Got that done with no issues, then I placed the ROM and GingerKernel on my SD card to flash. Wiped everything, flashed ROM + Kernel, and upon reboot it showed the Android bootanimation, but the word "Android" would flash 2x, and the light that goes across it would stop also for a second, then it repeats, the phone never boots.

The only clue I have that something's amiss is this cryptic error message when I boot into recovery:

E: bad boot message
"recovery "

I have restored my stock backup, but I'd really like to get this ROM working.

Any help much appreciated!

EDIT: Boots and runs well with GingerKernel on the stock ROM.

EDIT: Boots and runs well with GingerKernel on the stock ROM.

You're not supposed to wipe all of the data from the stock rom, the cache and dalvik cache are the only directories that should be wiped. Then you flash Gelato, and then GingerKernel. Reboot and everything should be fine.

I dont know what buttons you're referring to as I do not have this phone... but there is a way to customize ANYTHING on these phones just so you know. Check out UOT Kitchen

As I don't have this phone I'm not positive of this. But if its an icon you're wanting to change id guess its either in an associated apk (if u have an apk called quickpanel or panel id assume its in there) or in the framework-res.apk/systemui.apk. Now if its an actual option like say toggling wifi etc. you want to add. You would need to create an icon and edit an associated .xml I would guess. Id have to have the phone to give you a better response...but I hope this helps.

I'm having problems on my stock lg optimus slider with voip apps, the audio comes out the speaker phone. In particular I'd like viber to work. Does this rom have anything in it that would fix that?

Switch to speakerphone then back when the call starts, till that issue is fixed is the only solution I can come up with.

Does anyone else's phone just randomly reboot? It isn't very often, there is no real pattern, just occasionally I will look at my phone and its at the "Android" logo at the beginning.

Not here. Do you have SetCPU or some other overclocking app? Maybe you have it set too low, or have a profile set too high and the phone crashes and reboots.
