I've had issues in the past trying to pair my V with samsung dumphones. IDK about a slider to a v though, but I will be able to try here soon.

Strange......... wellsince I don't have a slider, I can't test this newest build, so after the holiday weekend, we should be able to look into it.

Just for the fun of it, could you reflash the Rom if you haven't already? Maybe wipe caches and give it flash and try again?

Edit: I know this forum is quite right now, but can anyone else verify this bug as well?

I can pair my phone with Windows 7. I can't actually do anything after the pairing, but the pairing code comes up and everything works fine in that respect. I'm using the 11-24 version of the ROM.

Re: [ROM][Team Hydro] Gelato 11-24 For Virgin Mobile Optimus Slid

Hi.

Will this work on my LG Optimus Q (L55C from Straight Talk)???

It appears to be (physically) the same as the Optimus Slider and I know they both have ARMv6.

Thanks.

I've never gotten Bluetooth to work between two phones. Ever in my life. And I've made (read: hacked together) ROMs.

Link me instructions on how to connect two mobile phones together and I'll try, although given my bad experiences I'll probably fail anyway.

General rant: Samsung phones suck with their connectivity. From the Gem and Intercept to the Galaxy S, I've never seen one that acts like it wants to be connected to a computer. Extrapolation is wrong to do (mathematically) so saying a Bluetooth connection on a dumbphone is like usb on a smartphone is a mathematical sin. But if it helps, it helps. So I said it.

Ok, regarding the bluetooth issues....... I was able to replicate the issue with my Optimus s. It became broken after the removal of the Privacy settings menu. But I have fixed it, at least with my Optumus s.

If someone could test this, that would be great. Backup first and give this a flash in recovery. Then try to pair whatever device, pc, headset, gps, etc..... that you want. Just please test it with something that you know you could connect to before the 11-24 update.

Oh, and the privacy menu is still gone in this fix. ;)

Edit: nevermind

Stuck at "ANDROID" screen...

It shows the word ANDROID and every so often it flashes twice. I followed the steps exactly EXCEPT I did not install the Gingerbread kernel.

I have an Optimus Q (gelato) and I can't do anything. I have to remove the battery for the phone to shut off.

I don't even know how to get back into recovery mode when the phone is off.

Please help!

This is at the top of the OP:

A GB ROM based off LG's code for the Virgin Mobile Optimus Slider, presented by KSmithInNY and Team Hydro

Why did you try to install it on the Q?

If you made a backup in recovery before you flashed this rom, then you can restore it. If you did not shame on you!

With the phone powered off, press and hold down the volume down button and the power button. Don't release the button until you're at the custom recovery. Then you can restore your backup.

^^^GOT IT RESTORED!!!!! :)

Sorry I thought that since the Optimus Q and Slider both have Gelato boards that it would work. I am new at this, I apologize.

So the ROM has to be specific to the phone model?

Yes, always.

We need a system dump from your phone or better yet, we need to get our hands on your phone model so we can make a ROM for it.

On your next build, you should add in drews kernel so we dont have to keep flashing it on top of each build.

From post #2

Q - I can haz overclocked kernel?
A - Nope, you sure can't. 800MHz is the highest this CPU can run and stay stable.

The good News is Drewwalton19216801 has released a highly optimized kernel for his phone. I will not be adding his kernel to this ROM because I think you should download it from Drew's post so you can thank and donate to him. http://forums.androidcentral.com/vi...gb-gingerkernel-v07-1-now-optimus-slider.html
