I second that Ragnarokx.. That behavior seems to be strange to say the least. I know your supposed to have freedom to use whatever launchers you choose and apps but sometimes there are unforeseen problems that arise as ROMs get modified further and further..

Aside from the above things Ragnarokx mentioned how about any apps or add ons installed. Even some apps/addons that were converted to Edify/CWMv3 script can cause random FC's. Themes are known for causing issues..

Note: When Ragnarokx and I started converting some things over to CWM3/Edify I backed off on some themes and a few addons because even though they converted okay they didn't run well because the ROMs have changed so much from when they were first created.

I used CW3 to install the "Sprint Apps" .zip Ragnarokx has listed on page 1. After doing this I was able to run successfully both Sprint Nascar and Football.

I just ran the Football application again, and observed it took a small update (and asked me to take a moment to fill out a survey ). Doing an About on Football it now reports as version 2.2.44 after the update.

I also ran Nascar again, it also worked fine. Under the Settings and Help, Customer Support link it reports itself as v3.3.6 and operates perfectly under TrulyEpic.

I can only suggest that you try applying only the "Sprint Apps" .zip and see if they work the same for you. And again, these only work with the native Sprint (non-Wi-Fi) data connection.

I appreciate you taking the time to look at this. I just reinstalled the sprint apps.zip and no luck on the nascar or football app. Are you using the TWlauncher or AMlauncher?

To all the people having trouble with Yahoo & Hotmail accounts on the Tab email - the following works!

FIRST- go to manage applications and WIPE your Cache. Then delete any previous existing Yahoo or Hotmail accounts you've tried to add.
Then do as follows:

For exchange server type m.hotmail.com

Check Use secure connection (SSL)

Check Accept all SSL certificates

Chose next then it will check to connect to hotmail. After it connects, make your choices as to sync with your current contacts etc.

Haven't used this extensively either to confirm full functionality- but since it's setup as an exchange account- you have true push!

So did I screw up?

I successfully installed the trulyepic mod, and may have looked over a couple steps because I thought I knew how things worked.

I've done it, and now I cannot sync my contacts from my gmail account, nor do my purchased applications show up in the market.

I thought everything was connected to my gmail account and I didn't need to worry about it?

Did you wipe your phone? Ext4 ROMs require it I believe. Go through the entire step by step process - I did it on my 1st attempt and I've never flashed ANY phone...ever. Yeah it's a pain with all the redirecting threads and posts- but the process in Truly Epic Rebirth really can work and is worth the effort IMHO.

Settings> accounts and sync> enable background, enable auto sync.... Then at the bottom select your gmail and select the features you want to sync.... Mind you I don't have an epic just tossing an idea out there

too much landscaping

Has anyone noticed that the portrait to landscape switch is oversensitive?

I am noticing that through normal usage of my phone (in/out of pocket, setting it down, checking emails in bed, etc) it is rotating to landscape (with my keyboard closed) more than it used to and i have to almost shake my phone to get it back to portrait. Never noticed anything like this with stock 2.1.

Or is this the "lag" that everyone is talking about? I guess I don't notice any lags when I actually WANT it to go to landscape (e.g. slide up keyboard). Is there a sensitivity setting for rotation somewhere?

Also (for those who may have tried out more than one custom ROM.. not me) is this ROM related or Froyo related?

I hate to say it but with my keyboard closed and in my browser/market/gmail etc.. I can go down the list switching from landscape to portrait is really 1/2-1 second at the most. I never have done any calibrations or any changes to my system.

There is an option in your apps drawer. Goto Spare Parts>Windows Animations and Transition Animations and set everything to FAST. That is the extent of any changes I have done.

Hi all -
I've downloaded and used this TrulyEpicRebirth ROM and so far have enjoyed it. However a few things that I've noticed are below. I am using ADW Launcher.

As with the quoted message, I have terrible lag to no switching when going from portrait view to landscape just by tilting the phone. In dk28 from a base Froyo rom I had the switch move very fast. Now, even if I pull out the keyboard it takes upwards of 20sec to switch to landscape. Just by tilting the phone it might, on occasion move. Other times when I'm plugged in for recharging (power) or to a usb charge it will be in landscape mode when the phone is clearly in a portrait type position.

Oh Noes. While reading many posts and keeping this on an alternate tab, I had the phone attached via USB and downloaded the TWLock Screen. I kept attempting to hit down volume+camera+power but it just kept powering on and off. As I posted above, I use ADW launcher. But after 3 times of power on and off, it force closes everything and I can only use the TW Launcher. Eek. Now I can't even use that. Tried accessing Market (using 2.2.11) now I get a black screen and even TW dies.
Finally able to get the system to reboot. But now almost all my apps are force close. I had no issues previously. I was able to finally install the TWLock screen (and that works) but even using the ROM launcher most apps are force closed, even after uninstalling them.
Too bad I have a job interview in the morning and won't be able to read posts and potential fixes until much later in the day. Bummer.

For recharging, I too mostly use the USB (via a hub) on both my netbook and desktop computers. Is there a way to get more than .07A for output?


As Epic users, we're still officially waiting on Froyo, yet Gingerbread and Honeycomb are announced. With GB out (in circles) how likely are you to make this a GB fix or just wait for a HC update? I don't want to put too much pressure on you. (no smiley, it's now an @)!

I had a C.p load of problems similar to yours, but not with the screenlag, i do notice there is some, but doesn't bother me as much, im not sure exactly where but in this post between page 30 to 40(quickly spottable) is a post to fix this sort of thing, even for tilt sensor games( i don't have one yet, so im not sure if im suffering the same problem but we will see ) but about the launcher FC'ng on you and a few other, apps. Apparently the current launcher doesn't like other launchers. I had Launcher Pro and i had a whole mess of trouble with it. So weird.:'( so for now i recommend using the one that comes with the rom, until a fix, or a update comes to it

Alright, I changed both from Normal to fast. I'm noticing about a 2.5-3 second delay in rotation. Looks like this is the lag I saw mentioned earlier - looks like I'll have to backtrack through the 47 pages & see what others are sayin lol :-\

Wow first time I've had any trouble I couldn't solve... Yep, can't run Sprint Football or Nascar either.. Getting the NASCAR is only available for Sprint and Nextel users.

So I shoot over to my manage apps and only option I get is to Force Stop the app.

I even tried downloading it from here and another source, even just installing the app directly using an APK installer.. Everything else from the Sprint App Restore works.. Using AMLauncher and also testing out Zeam Launcher just for kicks.. Also WiFi is turned off. That shouldn't matter though because before I rooted my phone on Eclair I was able to connect WiFi using it at home for less lag.

Hmmm... No roundy roundy Nascar on the screen for me? LOL! I think I'm gonna have to put a complaint into that Ragnarokx guy and give him a piece of my mind... hahah

I followed all the instructions from post 301 in addition to post 1. I didn't have many problems except the screen lag. Irritating, but useable. Sytem was fine with ADW Launcher. GPS didn't work {it showed 80 meters}.
But my problems didn't take effect until I tried to restart in bios. Hitting the vol down+camera+power doesn't always work {only one is recognized at times}. It was during one of these restarts that caused the problems.
More than half my programs force close before even starting. I even uninstalled, rebooted and redownloaded in an attempt to get it to work. ADW now works, but all the icons have been cleared. So I'm using TW. Still force close for most programs.
Wondering if I should just do another fresh install. Or easier to reset user data and go that route? I'm not worried about losing programs as I've written all of it down. I would just like my phone t go back to being TrulyEpic!

Ok I think this was actually just the product of a noob moment. I added in my university email afterwards so I could download my calendar, told it to synch contacts, and my contacts showed up.

So I'm guessing I did the wrong email when I initially created my first account this last summer. I'm assuming that my purchased apps are under that and I just need to wipe the phone so I can redo the initial setup.

Tried several things but still no Nascar & Football. Get the message Paul627g is above, only available to Sprint / Nextel users. All options are greyed out in the managae app utility. Both Nascar & Football are showing version 2.2.22.

The only thing I have not tried is the app removal tool from page 1 to remove those apps and then trying to re-install.

I have been thinking if I installed anything that would make these programs not read this is a Sprint phone. Only things that come to mind are mini theme 1.5, installed launcherpro (now removed), updated market to 2.2.11. I doubt any of these are the culprit but it's also very possible people with these apps working are not running any theme on top of trulyepic and have not updated their market.

It is strange Sprint TV, Navigation and Hotspot all seem to work fine.

Great. Just goto your Market and hit menu and select my apps. That should show any purchased apps and you can then redownload them.

+1 on that Mobius360. I was thinking about doing a wipe and reflashing TER 1.2 and try it before I throw in the Mini Theme v1.5. Just for kicks to see.. I used stock DK28 framework when I did the Mini Theme v1.5 so there shouldn't be any conflicts, but I guess anything is possible. Only take a few minutes.

Otherwise I'm really not sure what could be causing this.
