I've heard people do both on the Wifi sleep policy. The airplane mode trick I really don't think is necessary.

I really never mess with my settings and still get a good 10-12 hrs easy on Wifi all day.

love this rom! Fine job sir. I have had it a few weeks now with no problems other than gps issue which i used the 4th solution in gps fix link and bam. easily eliminated that problem. i have 1 final question i beleive. i was holding my phone inhand (unlocked) the other day and somehow pressed a certain combination of keys and dont remember but may have had the camera running and some how accidentally took a screen shot. i tryed for hours to figure how i did it because it is a useful feature but my mind was blown because i have no sreen shot app installed. is this some feature built into the rom or possibly superuser??? if so awesome! but how do i do it again???

Its built into Froyo. Its not very efficent verses what is available in the Market.

- Keyboard open. Hold back key (little arrow doing a 180 on the left side) and press Home key. (This way works great but your pics are landscape mode.)

- Keyboard closed in portrait, same thing except with your capacitive buttons (hold back key and hit Home) this way doesn't work very well because the back key reacts fast and goes back like it should to your previous screen.

Grab screenshot or equivalent from the market and you will be much happier.

i am having problems with receiving mms. someone sends me a pic and instead of the pic i get a button that says download. then i click that it says "download of message new message from XXX was unsuccesful"

im not on wifi or 4g and i am using the trulyepic beta.

* i also can't send any pics, it just says sending...


anyone have any ideas ?

---ok for giggles i flashed the bubble sms and now everything works. i hate the bubbles though. if anyone can tell me why the no-bubble doesn't work i would love to switch back.

I had this problem too, not the texting, but the image sending, the new SMS that is in the TER rom allows you to send/receive unresized images and not reduced sizes that the phone does to send quickly, so bgasicly when its in the "sending..." its sending the image true size so if its 1MB is sending 1MB, i don't see why it would take so long to send such a size, since the speed of the 3G is fast enough to get that through fast.
But i also dislike the bubble MMS/SMS thing... is annoying.
I also had the problem of the Lil image then it says downloadk and when i click it it jumps back( i posted a video about this problem) solution about it? getting chompsms and then im able to view this image i don't see why thats a problem, but since i want to be able to download the true image size/quality, i don't wish to install the stock SMS.apk that ragnarok suggested due to that.
Other than that, screw the bubbles lol

haha the way you describe it, sounds just like me when i found it too, but as ragnarok mentioned, get a screenshot app from the store,
I recommend shootme it will solve your screenie needs!

Okay I need some help now. I updated to Froyo 2.2 using Odin. Installed Clockwork mod. Installed TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.2.

Used the phone for a while, everything running well.

I installed the Sprint Stock Apps (Mostly for Sprint TV, don't care about Nav, NFL, or Nascar) and now I am in an endless bootloop.

Edit: Okay, so after the endless bootloop cycle, I went back to CWM and reinstalled the Sprint Stock Apps then restarted. This time is showed the Galaxy S avatar thing about 2-3 cycles at least then went into Froyo, however, it was like I had never booted into it before and was another fresh install asking to do the tutorials all over again and none of my previous settings were saved... anyone know why this happened?

Was it because I didn't follow this direction:
ROM Downloads (use Clockwork v3.0.0.X to flash)
TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.2 | Mirror (IMPORTANT: in Clockwork before flashing: wipe data, wipe cache, advanced>wipe dalvik-cache twice each) ???

and yep always follow the directions unless stated
Always wipe before installing a new rom, or current ( unless stated other wise )

Well I did the fresh install, but I didn't wipe it out twice... just the one time. Anyway, my GPS is on the fritz, doesn't look like it can get a signal... Will have to try one of the 4 fixes available that is linked in the first post.

Does this come with an APK installer or do I need to get one from Market, also any preferences for APK Installers from Market: AppInstaller vs Astro Filemanager, etc...

EDIT: GPS fritz was fixed my using the "#4" method in the potential GPS fixes. It did do a program, contact, reset, but it was essentially like flashing the TrulyEpic Rebirth ROM again, and since I had just done it, I lost virtually nothing. Just an FYI.

Also I just used the AppInstaller from the Market...

Using email client with Yahoo plus

Hi ragnarokx,

I'm trying to use the mail client that's included in the build with Yahoo plus account. I followed incoming and outgoing pop server settings from yahoo page, but it just doesn't seem to download the mails. I have no problem with gmail account, but only with yahoo. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the wonderful rom.

I have the same problem. I tried flashing the stock mms.apk and still having the problem receiving mms

for me it all started after installing the stock sprint apps.
i have removed all of them but the hotspot app because i dont know the name of the apk.

can anyone let me know what is the name of the hotspot apk in this rom to see if removing all sprint stock apps solves this problem.
I dont want to flash this rom again and would like to try this before having to do so.

OK, I have tried re-loading the Restore Bubble SMS several times but I can't get the messages to stop showing up in my call log. I am using Handcent and have notifications from the stock mms disabled. Any ideas? Thanks!

Anyone having issues with WIFI? Its a relatively fresh install and its been present since. What happens it it initially works, but if the phone goes idle or is put into sleep the WIFI remains connected but there is no internet connection. My router works well (Airlink with dd-wrt) and I never had a problem before rooting...

Anyone else experiencing similar WIFI issues. I am actually not sure whats the trigger to make the data stop streaming, but like I said before it might be related to sleep/idle.

Of note, I do not have JuiceDefender downloaded/running at the current time.

Two options.

Wireless Tether for Root Users from the Market (works for some)

Wireless Tether (works for others)

These are both the same program but for some reason the Market version doesn't work for everyone. Using any of the other options on your phone under Wireless & Networks or when you connect Tethering via USB cable is not a free supported method.

I just installed this, but I'm having issues syncing with an exchange server. I'm going to try a different ROM, but it appears that the activesync gets hosed on certain items every once in a while, and stops delivering.
