[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

I found the correct link and i now have the correct epic rebirth file saved to my sd card as a zip file.

But i did all the recovery options in clock work " recovery before ext file system etc.."

now that i have the correct rom file how would i put my phone back to EXT file system? with clockwork

If you go into CWM and its green text with black background then you need to go below and follow the instructions to get EXT4/CWM3 installed and follow up the end of the installation by flashing the TER 1.5 ROM.

Epic Lag Fix: RFS to EXT4 (Now w/Clockwork v3.0.0.5)

can anyone please point me to a theme that works perfectly with 1.5? thanks

Really there has been very little reported problems with Mini Theme v1.7. If you do decide to give it a go, any FC's you do encounter seem to be easily fixed by going into CWM and selecting Fix Permissions and reboot. I had it happen once during some testing and it resolved the issue with no problems since.

I've tried everything and I'm still getting FCs and reboots. I even tried to wipe and flash 1.5 fresh.

The time for a reboot seems to vary, i've had it happen a few times per hour or once in a day. Most recently it was fine for 15 hours, then rebooted. After that it kept showing a FC in android.media and I had to restart manually.

I'm working currently on an updated Mini Theme v1.8, just putting a few last things into it. I hope this version will have a better outcome, since there seems to be no real reason as why this is happening to certain people.

In the meantime, is it safe to update the 1.5 theme in CWM over the 1.7 or is there a zip to remove the 1.7 mini?

Go right ahead and flash the Mini Theme 1.5. There is no real way to remove a theme except to flash over it, restore a backup in CWM or reflash the ROM over it entirely to reset everything.

This is nuts how many people are having trouble, I installed ter 1.5 and mini theme 1.7, uploaded the wifi tether fix, flashed galaxy tab email to fix the email issue and have not had a problem since, no force closes or anything, it's super quick. The only issue I have is with the market not loading once in a while but I don't think that this has anything to do with the rom. Rag and Paul you look like you have your hands full, wish I could help more, but I have had no problems at all and I have never rooted or customized my phone before. Keep up the good work!

Everyone~ I would make sure that you are following the instructions exactly and have a good micro usb cable like the ones they sell on monoprice.com. Read through most of the threads as there are some hidden tips and tricks that may help.

I'm going to second the "you're doin' it wrong" theme, I'm a seriously heavy user, TER v1.5 is rock solid, mmmkay?

Start over, backup, follow all instructions, don't trust yourself, copy the text into notepad and delete steps as you complete them to ensure you don't miss anything, if you require clarification on a step, try using the thread search tool to find similar posts, rag and paulg do their best to make sure the OP is updated with the most clear and current steps to resolve common issues.

When in doubt, start over.

TER v1.5

mini theme v1.7

tether fix from link in thread above.

Fast, stable, good battery life, no FC's.

Thanks to Paul and Rag.

Well, it's taken me a while to get this rom really working well on my epic. Went through two total failures with 1.2. After reading through this entire thread the one common theme that kept hitting me in the face was trying to restore all of my "stuff". Saved settings and the like. Letting the setup restore my apps was fine, but I kept trying to restore the settings, etc. Finally on the third try I just started over, let the setup install my apps, then set them up individually after that with no restores. Finally a TER 1.2 installation with no problems. Then flashed 1.5 on top of that, fixed the email and wifi problem from the first post and this thing just flies.

This epic finally works like I always thought it should. For the first and only rom I tried I'm not surprised that I had a few hiccups. Instructions? Why would I need instructions? oops. That doesn't mean that I won't add something or do something later to break it however. I like to tinker.

Side note, my battery lasts much longer in 1.5 than it did in 1.2. Was there significant improvements there? I didn't see anything like that in the release notes. Or is it just because I did it clean the last time? Stock battery lasts all day now, the extended battery lasts just over two days with some pretty heavy use.

Thanks for an excellent ROM.

Have you changed something? Added or removed something? FC's won't usually just start happening for no reason after things have been stable unless you alter something.

i did a backup in clockwork before i tried adding an sms thing. didnt even add anything, just rebooted and it started fc everything. starting with google services. so i flashed TER again, apps were FC, deleted those and readded them. seem to be working fine now. but like "spare parts" is still FC.

I had this exact same thing happen, everything fine, back up in clockwork, everything FC on the next boot. I chalked it up to something I did. Interesting.

Try booting into CWM and select Fix Permissions and see if that helps.

I've personally tested every TrulyEpic Rebirth Mini Theme and all have worked for me. I've also tested the Gingerbread Theme with no problems.

Try restoring Data only using Advanced Restore in Clockwork.

It's a combination of things. Glad it's working well for you :D
