[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

In need of some help... I have cwm3, and I put the trulyepic zip on my SD card, so I go into cwm3 and try to flash... it automatically backs up my old ****, and converts to ext4 without me doing anything, then I can't find the trulyepic file that I put on there. So right now, my phone is pretty much stuck. Tried to restore back in cwm3 to no avail, no idea what to do now. I'll turn my phone on and it just sits at the samsung screen.

Follow Step 6 to flash the ROM.

If you mean you forgot what folder you put the ROM zip in, just take your SD card out of your phone and put it in the SD adapter that came with your Epic, plug it into your computer and find the zip. Then put your SD card back and flash.

I have the Epic 4G for Sprint but running firmware Ver 2.1. Would I be able to user this?

Yes, just follow this thread.

Didn't even think about the SD card adapter, life saver lol.

Looks great! I might switch back to launcher pro, I really like the "dock" on the bottom of the screen, but adw seems a bit more responsive. Outside of that, excellent.

How much battery life have you been getting with it, just curious?

I and a few others have posted better than average battery life. Until we get some custom kernels we won't see any epic (yes I went there) battery life differences.

My battery life increased dramatically since stock. Today with 2 1/2 hours of voice calls, 2 hours of playing minisquadron, some random market update downloads and 50mb dropbox transfer over wifi and I was at 35% with 11 hours unplugged from AC. At stock it would have told me to plug in my phone or have died already.

Also I restarted today and launcherpro plus started up fine this time. I do notice a bug that sometimes i exit an app or window and LP has to reload widgets/folders it will take forever to load, in which case i have a functioning dock but nothing on any launcher screen. It seems kind of random though. Weird minor quirks with LP but overall doesn't bother me much.

Did you come from Android 2.1 (Eclair) before installing your Android 2.2 (Froyo) ROM? If so you need the Froyo modem. If this is the case, follow this procedure to resolve: New: Flash Froyo DK28 Modem Only.

Thank you so much, worked like a charm. I had a few other issues when I tried restoring my backup but i was able to get things up and running...Ended up completely wiping my phone again and starting from scratch but now things are running pretty smoothly. Thanks again for your help

Just flashed with TrulyEpic and its amazing. The phone instantly feels faster and more efficient. I'm barely getting all my apps and data back into it, so I haven't tested it thoroughly yet, but so far so good. I also run LP Plus and so far, it performs better than it did in stock. In stock, LP was a battery drain.

Ragnarokx: I did find a bug though. I'm using power control widget plus to toggle the brightness of my phone. When I push on the widget to get full brightness, it works. When I push on it again to get minimal brightness, the phone screen turns off and the phone itself remains unresponsive for a good 30 seconds. My work around is to change from minimal brightness to 10% brightness. This didn't happen in stock. Just thought I give you a heads up.

Thanks for all your great work. This ROM is GREAT!!

I have also seen some slow launcher loading when returning to the home screen. It takes about 5 seconds for the icons to appear when returning to the launcher every now and again. Not a big deal for me.

Also, I noticed that you can set the lock screen to off in the settings, but the slide to unlock screen remains. Also not a big deal now that I realized that the phone can be silenced from the lock screen.

This ROM is teh awesome! =)

ive had this rom installed for about 12 hours and right now everything seems awesome! came from midnight rom so I had high expectations. of course this exceeded them! no issues right now!

Thank you for the calculator.

How we get notified about patches like this and updates?

BOOM! Worked like a charm, ran through a couple of issues beforehand which is not the roms fault but mine. FYI, Im still a amateur at this stuff and learn on a need to know basis.
Im coming from a dk28 update back in november i installed myself w/ clockwork 2.xxx.
I tried installing using the instructions here on page one and something messed up big time in the updating up to clockwork 3.xx. I was not able to reboot back to dk28 even.
All I did was:
Used odin and downloaded the pin file and dk28 and reflashed again.
re-rooted using the instructions on the forum here which in turn added the recent clockwork 3.xx. So now with a fresh installed operating system I then installed truleyepic and wallah! fast as a bolt from zeus in the heavens everything runs. I put in my gmail info and it automatically installed 50 apps with launcherpro.

I love it!

One question though, instead of using windows, is there a way to see if the ext4 file system in installed from android terminal?

If you have ClockworkMod3 (recovery screen with orange text), then you can be confident that you have EXT4 as CWM3 automatically converts your filesystem.

I cannot believe how much faster my phone is running now! I finally feel proud of choosing the EPIC over the EVO. Thanks again!!

I'm planning on doing this to my wife's phone this weekend. Quick question: if I want to flash the ROM and a couple of add-ons, do I need to reboot after each flash or can I do it all in one shot?

I would definitely reboot once right after flashing the ROM, but the add-ons should be ok to flash back to back.

I want to thank you again for giving us a version of Froyo that makes this phone be what it should be. I have been beating on this ROM for two days and it is bulletproof.

You need to get a paypal account and let us donate something.... I know you have pushed those requests away before. You deserve some money for your time and your support time.

Let us know what your plans for the next release.......

I would really like to put this on my stock Epic (2.1-update 1, DG17) but don't know where to start..... especially after reading this thread.

If someone can give me a quick overview I'm sure I can figure it all out. Really just don't know what things need to happen and in what order.

Thanks in advance,
Yuma

Wow, first time rooting and putting on a new rom, and the thing really does fly...I would have never thought I was missing anything, but now I don't think I could ever go back.

2 questions -

1. Is there a way to remove homescreens from the default launcher? I just don't need 5.

2. I tried out the light black theme but now I think I want to go back to the grey one (just personal preference)...how do I do that?

Thanks to everyone in on this thing, it is great.
