Didn't work for me...
Ok, so I followed the steps, no problem, ran the calibration utility, put the phone on it's side edge, as it told me to, and then it ran... Now my apps are all rotated 180. They completely disregard the rotation of the device. If I open physical keyboard it rotates the correct way, but if I close it, no matter how I hold the phone, it is in landscape mode (like if the keyboard is open), but facing the wrong way.
Any ideas?
UPDATE: I have now rerun sensorcalibutil_yamaha several times... I placed the phone on my desk
- in landscape mode, (as if you're about to open the keyboard). But I had the phone's EDGE, not BACK on the desk.
- sitting on the desk on it's back
- in portrait mode, with the bottom edge (where the "Samsung" label is) sitting on my desk.
No matter what I did, ALL apps open only in landscape mode, and pointed the wrong way, unless I slide out keyboard, at which point they open the right way. Hopefully somebody has an idea on that. Thanks
UPDATE 2: Oddly, in the couple minutes it took me to write this update, the problem went away. very strange because I did NOTHING except sit the phone down and write this update. Not sure what's up with that... I can report now that the lag is gone.. when I re-orient the phone, it switches modes very quickly.
THANKS.
Lag rotation? I think I know what you are talking about and how to fix it. Are flying games like winds of steel affected at all? if so then I tink I am understanding what is going on. Every time I fash a froyo rom I have a slight lag in rotation and in flying games the plane don't fly right. To fix this i have to calibrate sensors not by using the option in settings but by downloadin android terminal emulator by jack something. then follow this
Type: su then hit enterand allow the app root
Then type: /system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yamaha and hit enter then just folow directions. Exit app turn off screen, turn it back on and then it should fix the lag
