[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

My gps seems to be working better than when on stock 2.1 . My compass seems to be not working anymore, allways pointing north now even after recalibrating several times. Not a big deal just wondering if there's a sollution? Great job on the rom by the way. Everything seems to be running smooth.

Does the AMLauncher support more than the default 5 home screens? If so, can you please explain how to change the setting?

Ahmgsk is or will be working on an updated version with customization options.

1) Right now, not able to get the sound to work for incoming calls. When I go to settings --> sounds, then try to edit sounds for incoming calls, a force close occurs. I can only get it to vibrate with calls.

Did you restore settings from a previous ROM? If so flash again and do not restore this time.

Quick question... Raganarok.. I don't like how the bubble chat looks.. I though it was teh same as in Eclair.. I LIKE... eclairs version better, can you make one that i can just flash back to remove teh bubble thing? Instead of me having to reflash my backup?

Download this zip, unzip it, find MMS.apk, copy to your SD card, and use Root Explorer (or equivalent) to move it to /system/app, overwriting the existing apk. Make sure your SMS/MMS app is not running when you do this.

I was wondering too... is there any other compatable roms to put other addons/themes besides the one listed with the original post?

Anything compatible with ClockworkMod3 will theoretically work. If you're not sure, make a backup in Clockwork before you flash it so you can revert if anything goes wrong.

Here is the file for the epic and i go to clockwork and try to install but get a error .... Any fix? Thanks

Ok, few bugs I have found (ymmv):

1.) Application icons disappear randomly. Today I went to play Angry Birds and noticed both versions had disappeared from the app screen. When I went to the MarketPlace, it stated both were installed and allowed me to launch from there. I could not figure out how to get the icons back into the stock app screen. The only way I could get them back was to restore from My Backup Pro and then they re-populated. This happened to at least 4 programs.

2.) I have seen intermittent 3G connectivity. This very well could be my location, but it seems to fluctuate.

3.) Last evening I paired with a Zehyr HxM Bluetooth heart rate monitor and it worked fine as far as I could tell. When I paired with my Motorola S9-HD right and tried to play music using Mixzing I received quite a bit of choppiness and cutout. I adjusted settings including equalizer, buffer control and even went so far as restarting the phone, and nothing seemed to help. I also tried using ATK to kill unused services and apps (I know, I know, not recommended by many) all to no avail. Strange thing, it eventually cleared up - out of the blue! Just thought I would toss that out there. If you see this issue after flashing and pairing, just wait 30min and see if it corrects itself. Did with me.

4.) At times when I hit the application button, it takes upwards of 15-20s before the app icons populate. It is almost as if it is thinking. Very odd.

5.) As I previously mentioned, my GPS did not work when I first flashed. Option 4 from this link fixed it for me. Just keep in mind it will reset your phone and you will have to reload your apps.

Are you using an EXT4 filesystem? If so reflash the ROM and do not restore any backups. Then re-test for these issues.

Few items and questions:

1.) After logging into Goggle the first reboot after a flash, I noted that over the next 30min all my APP's re-downloaded and installed. No need to use My BackupPro to restore them. Is this something new? Of course it did not restore my data, but I did that using My Backup.

2.) Is there any way to get Sprint Navigation back? I did not see it in the Sprint add-on zip on the first page. I really like some of the features it provided.

3.) Screen rotation. Any way to control sensitivity and which orientations you want to enable? I really only want default orientations and/or app/keyboard forced orientation.

4.) Lastly, Flash 10.1. Can I now play Hulu Plus??? This will be HUGE for me!

1. Yes, new to Froyo.

2. See 1st post for Sprint Apps.

3. See 1st post Troubleshooting.

4. Now added to Add-On Downloads - see 1st post.

After lots of Bluetooth and GPS trouble while driving country highways yesterday with Quantum 2.7, I flashed to Truly Epic today, and so far Bluetooth and GPS working better. I still had to use GPS Status to fix it the first time, perhaps because I did not Odin to I18 first.

I kind of miss the bubble SMS though! I figure I will find that and put it back in.

thanks for the ROM work, Ragnarok!

Hey ragnparokx,

In regards to not being able to get incoming calls to have audio, I've never used another ROM before, this was my first time upgrading straight from stock. I did restore system settings from mybackup. Could this cause problems? I've fixed the FC. Only issue now is this: I can access my SD card from file programs like astro, however programs like winamp or zingdroid that are supposed to automatically search through the SD card for relevant files does not work.

Also one other question, is it okay to install one theme over another or do I have to somehow wipe a previous theme out (if that's possible)?

Thanks again for your help!

You should never restore system settings, that can cause a lot of problems (Froyo will automatically restore your system settings from now on).

Does your data connection work ok? If so reflash the ROM without restoring anything. Using a restore from a stock ROM on a custom ROM is not a good idea. If there is an app you need the data from, download the app from the Market and restore only its data.

Flashing theme over theme is fine, no extra steps needed.

Man you respond so quick thanks a lot. Update: I just installed the sprint restore programs to get the sprint gps program and just checked to see if after booting out of clockwork there were any changes and all the sudden it all works!!! Not exactly sure why but think maybe i needed to reset the phone after deleting those files by mistake that I mentioned in the earlier post. Anyway, sorry to waste your time with this but a really appreciate your help! I showed my brothers the newly updated phone and the specs in quandrant and they're jealous!!! They both have samsung vibrants. You don't by chance know or recommend a mod for that phone? I was looking through their forum and that phone doesn't seem to have awesome people like you providing so much support.

wireles tether

is there going to be a wiereles tether for this rom but that sends out infrastructure too instead of just ad hoc, (i wonna play my ps3 online)

No problem, I've very glad to hear everything worked out :D

And believe or not I actually do have a suggestion for a Vibrant ROM. A good friend of mine has a Vibrant, and he has been raving about a ROM recently ported to the Vibrant - Meizu ROM. He said it's fast as heck and it dramatically increased his battery life.

Not atm - it's a work in progress for Froyo. The only way to get infrastructure mode now is to go back to Eclair and use the MobileAP.apk from the Galaxy S I9000.

Love the mini-theme 1.5 and all the wallpapers. Ran benchmark a few times, averaged over 1720 which is pretty damned impressive(high of 1827).

Had to replace the galaxy tab email with the stock froyo one because it just wouldn't work, which is a real shame considering it looked pretty sweet in terms of general layout.

What is this hulu flash + app you speak of?!

Just finished going from stock Eclair 2.1 to Froyo, EXT4 & TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.2

Thanks everyone, especially ragnarokx for such clear instructions & making installing my first ROM less scary :)

Also flashed:
- Restore Bubble SMS
- Revert To Smiley key
- Revert Power Button Function

I wanted to tell you though, I noticed something on the phone while backing up some my rom before flashing smething new from here(if i don't like it, i can always reflash it back! :D yay!) but what i see most of the time(alot) come up is this

no Sd-ext found. Skipping back up of sd-ext

Is this Ok?
or did i did somethign wrong when doing the Converstion to EXT4?

Hm awesome them, I haven't tried it yet, but this will only remove the way the SMS looks as well as the limit ect.. will it also leave the fix the "sprint voice sms's" one get from installing VM?
sorry that i didn't ask this before hand.

thank you once again man!

Thanks for all your hardwork Ragnarokx! It's working well. The only problem I had was with my WIFI. I was having problems toggling WIFI on and off. I'm stil trying to troubleshoot and see if its Juice Defender, or the WIFI status application. I assume its not Truly Epic, since no one else has reported this problem yet.

actually i have to add something here, Some how juice defender, though my Battery was at 25% and disabled all my data and left Wifi on... It really wasn't at 25% because i had the MIdnight Theme battery percentage mod and it showed 5% for more than 4 hours while i was at work i have to say that this one killed my battery rapid! So i disabled juiced for the time being.. until the phone died, then i just went back and reflashed the rom now, i suppose that having the launcher Pro as my main launcher scrwed up a couple of things... sad though, i liked how i can customize so many things for it :/, and i can't get beautiful widgets to work on this from what i see... weird. I'll get back on this post, if i find out anything about that though. for the mean time, im goign to use the trulyepic launcher until it is ok to use custom launchers. :)

I am having the same issue. It went away when I uninstalled JuiceDefender. See this trouble ticket http://feedback.latedroid.com/forum...racking_code=7927a680300ca80f67549ab7384947be
