[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

Ok got tired of waiting for 2.2 official from sprint so spent the better part of the day on this. One click modded to trulyepic then spent quite a while fixing radio then fixed gps and restored backups with titanium. Along with downloading adwlauncher two days ago its like I have a whole new phone. Now I am just wondering about how to overclock my Epic. I downloaded set cpu but it only goes to 1ghz.

One click mod?? How?

Can I strip certain APK's out of the SPRINT apps zip if I do not want to flash them? For example, I don't want or need Nascar or Football, but TV and Telenav I do want.

From the 1st post:

Thanks, saw it. Sorry, I thought it was a flash package for usage after installation so did not even click on it. I see now it is an installable. I was simply looking to strip them out before applying the zip through CW.

Sorry for all the the newbie questions. I'm up to page 47 in this thread reading through each. Perhaps I missed this: Is there any easier way to flash these packages outside of CW? Rom Manager maybe? Just can be tedious rebooting to CW each time you want to add something.

Also, noticed when I installed Hulu via CW earlier, it basically reset my phone (had to go through Google setup motions, etc, and had a ton of FC's). I rebooted as soon as FC's started popping up everywhere and decided to start over. I wiped cache x2 and reinstalled your ROM and then applied the Hulu app afterwords without issue. Is this behavior normal (ie going through the Google setup) after each add-on?

Lastly, big THANK YOU!! This was my first attempt at the Android hack and I must say it has been well worth it. Enjoy all the work you have done and your responsiveness here!!

Yes you can pull them out of the zip file. That is what I did when I restored Sprint apps. I don't need Sprint Football so I deleted it from the .zip. The filenames are pretty easy to figure out what its what.

Sent from my Epic 4g.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU! I don't know if it was the update to Froyo or not, but since updating Sunday night from Eclair my battery life has gone through the freaking roof! Right now I'm sitting at 80% after charging overnight. Last week at this time I'd be about 60% on my second charge of the day.

Just wanted to say that i updated the MMS bug link into my post in page 50 :)

added here too, sorry

The only apps that will show up are purchased apps. I assume you mean under my apps after you installed the rom. You need to seek out the free apps, good idea to write them down.

Or do you mean those are the only apps your market shows period.

I normally flash one thing at a time, boot then go back to CWM and do the next but I have done multiple flashes in one shot and then boot up. Its not something I would recommend do to possible conflicts but I have done it.

I guess I will throw up the disclaimer: Attempt at your own risk as with anything else involving modifying your phone I/nor Android Central will not be responsible for your actions.

No the Google setup only happens with certain apps/add ons. Hulu being one of them. Themes, battery mods etc normally just flash, boot and enjoy.

OK, did the reflash again, this time wiping all cache x2 in advance per this post by jnevans. After rebooting, I powered off and then booted into CW. Flashed all the apps I wanted to inject. Rebooted in lightning speed back to OS! BAM, no issues whatsoever! Will now run SDX to remove junk not needed from the Samsung/Sprint flashes.

Thanks ragnarokx's, jnevans, and Paul627g!!

no i already have downloaded my apps after i flashed.......they were all there yesterday including free and purchased apps today just purchased apps

Try going to settings>applications>all>market>clear data, cache and unistall uodates...then back out and open market. This works for me everytime my market isn't showing some of my apps...let me know if it works.

So it seems to me my blue tooth module started crashing whenever i try to connect to a previously paired device (my car stereo) It worked fine this morning, but not this afternoon.

Durring the day i rebooted and it seems to have converted my filesystem (i thought that had all ready happened) and I attempted to install the midnight theme and the smiley keyboard patch. Non of which appear to have worked.

Any suggestions?

From the 1st post:

Sorry but do I have to rename the .APK to a .ZIP? I cannot find the file in clockwork..

Sorry i couldn't quote correctly:
"Add-On Downloads (use Clockwork v3.0.0.X to flash)
SDX Stock App Removal - remove any stock apps, including ones you restore below"

If I understand your question correctly. If the download has the .APK extension then you need to save it to your SD card and use Astro or equivalent pgm from the Market to install the file.

If it has the extension .zip, you will flash it using ClockWorkMod just like you flashed your ROM.

Thanks Paul. Yes it was downloaded as an .APK and used Astro to install it. Thanks again!

Okay, I wiped 3x. Flashed TER 1.2>boot>rebooted into CWM>flashed Sprint App Restore>Nascar/Football working>reboot CWM>flashed Mini Theme 1.5>boot up and all is still working :)

Last test would be to install the SMS Voice mail msg patch and were all good.
Flashed SMS Voice Mail msg patch, Nascar/Football still working.

If your interested try these steps and all should work. Not sure what caused the conflict to make the App Restore for NASCAR/FOOTBALL not function.

I'm glad to see a clean flash will now let you run Nascar again - woot! :D

To follow-up, I think you are correct in suspecting the network name (under Settings -> About -> Status). The network name of "Sprint" may in fact be a required identifier in order for Sprint Football and Nascar apps to run.

I have never installed a mini-theme or custom status-bar mod with TrulyEpic as yet, and my network name has therefore always shown as "Sprint" and these two apps have always worked for me.

So I'm not sure but it sounds like both of you installed a .ZIP additional that changed the network name? If this is correct, maybe someone can place a .ZIP in page 1 to ensure the network identifier of "Sprint" can be restored so any potential combination of mods listed on page 1 will work? Alternatively disclaim any mods that change the network name...
