Not a problem asuma. the one thing you may notice with autokiller is if you multitask a lot, certain apps may get killed off. for me it might have been due to me setting it to aggressive. Not to sure but either way it is worth it

I also have mine set to aggressive, so far no problem has been encountered even if, I'm multitasking. :)

OK, this is a good ranting thread from both sides.

I have been looking at rooting for a few months on the HTC Evo 4g. My problem is after combing through forums and wiki's here and there, I can't find a definitive list of instructions or a wiki. Something centralized. For instance, I know what rooting does and I know that I should backup the device. But what I don't know is if I can really restore the device back to Factory default easily. If something goes wrong, what do I do? And what I should do in preparation for the root. Once I am done rooting, and I want to load a few custom ROMs here and there, is there an easy process? Do I ever have to involve Sprint in getting the phone connected after ROM replacement?

I am not looking for anyone to answer these questions (but feel free). Instead, I am looking for a very good resource that has these answers so I can do some reading. A link to "the best" wiki or forum. If anyone has that, please shoot that link as a response. I would appreciate it.

I think the more advanced sites, or even just the more advanced sections of the forums, should have a 3 day wait before posting is allowed. Force people to spend 3 days reading, then if they still need help, they can post informed questions instead of the same garbage being asked ad nausea. Would really cut down on the number of bricked devices and irritated developers.

no, just flash rom and go, no sprint processes or anything. as far as flashing rom, its too easy. just reboot into recovery and flash from zip. be sure to wipe data and dalvick cache. it you want someone to hold your hand, get rom manager.

Once you root you can return the phone back to factory settings by flashing the phone with the RUU. RUU stands for ROM Utility Update and is a .exe program that you run when you connect the phone to the computer. It will remove root and leave you with a stock phone.
And what I should do in preparation for the root. Once I am done rooting, and I want to load a few custom ROMs here and there, is there an easy process?

You will need to read the root method you want to follow and understand the process. Download the files given in the method and place them somewhere on your computer that is readily accessible. You can also browse the developer ROMs and download the one you want to try. Flashing a ROM is as easy as placing the ROM file, in .zip format as downloaded, on the root of your sd card and going into recovery then flashing. If special instructions are needed, the ROM Developer should let you know in the thread created for the ROM.
Do I ever have to involve Sprint in getting the phone connected after ROM replacement?

Contacting Sprint is not necessary. If you have any problems with the phone and need repair you will need to run the RUU and take it in. Sprint might give you problems if they see you have rooted the phone and may claim you voided your warranty. There is no way of them knowing that your phone is rooted unless they see the physical phone and identify the software to be changed.

XDA Evo 4g Development forum will have a lot of useful information. Threads with links to Evo Wikis are in the stickies: EVO 4G Android Development - xda-developers

Here is the XDA Evo 4g Tutorial page: HTC Supersonic/Guides & Tutorials - XDA-Developers There are various methods to root the phone based on preference and software versions. You can check the software version by going to settings > about phone.
