Rooting 2.2.2

Which clockmod version works for 2.2.2?
As a rule of thumb:Xionia_cwma_12518.4 seems to works the best with Froyo based ROM's and has an option in the advanced section to fix recovery loop. This is why I keep it on my SD card even though I'm running ClockWorkMod recovery. ClockWorkMod 3.2.0.1(3.2.0 might mess up your "V") seems to work best with the Gingerbread based ROM's,especially the new CM7-IHO ROM's(Xionia doesn't seem to be doing as good a job of wiping to install the new CM7 ROM's). I don't have any experience with Thunderc-v-1.2.0-GNM . It has some applications but I really don't know which. For a list and more info on this subject go here http://forums.androidcentral.com/op...guide-optimus-v-modding-read-get-started.html

Finally got gingerbreak to work for me after 4 attempts. Thanks guys, makes me feel much better to be rooted again.

Re: how to root lg optimus v 2.2.2

Do you still have a full Root after reboot. Maybe you could download Root Checker and give us the Advanced results Of "Verify Root Access" and "Verify Busybox Install". Then with a good file manager like say Super Manager, go into /system/bin or /system/xbin (wherever your su file is located) and give us the permissions that is listed with it. The only reason I ask for this info is in past versions of SuperOneClick hitting the ROOT button would give you a funky half root that would eventualy lock up your phone. That is why you would have to use the Shell Root button and then push su and busybox, and change su permissions with command prompts. It wouldn't even let you flash a recovery from ROMTools because it didn't recognize the phone as even being rooted.(this is a good way to tell if you have this funky half root). This info would benefit all the members and possible give us an easier way to Root our phones. But without that info, ain't no member with any sense is going to use it if it has to high a chance of messing up there phone.

I'm 99 percent certain that you are not truly rooted. Have you managed to flash a new recovery or rom after a reboot?

I went to shortfuze.org and the Dev mentioned that the exploit would end with "dance forever my only one" if it were successful. If xbox101stuff didn't get this then he probably has a funky half Root(Warning! Warning! Danger Will Robinson!)

Thanks *so* much for the info about retrying -- I had been about to give up.

FWIW, I tried GingerBreak several times while connected to a wireless AP without success, but the first I time I tried it wireless off, it worked.

HTH somebody.

Woot! :D
