Rooting after official froyo

Updated, now no Root??

Ok so i like everyone else has just updated to froyo and now my root access is gone, i assume this is because of the updates? Well last time i rooted my phone i used the superoneclick, ragethecage method, is this now outdated? if so does someone have a new "one-click" method available now? (i ask for one-click because im not super experienced with rooting, but am somewhat confident)
thanks in advance

superone click may work, give it a try and let us know

I updated to 2.2 froyo yesterday and my root was gone, my superuser icon is still there but none of my root access apps are working. I assume this is from the update and i was wondering if there is a new "one-click" method of rooting my fascinate. (last time i used the Superoneclick method, but it doesn't seem to be working anymore) I would like a one click method because im not super experienced with this stuff.
Thanks in advance

Sorry I fell a little behind on ya DXC. I can confirm both your auto script and su+busybox.zip install from CWM work fine.

*EDIT*

As a follow up after trying both official and deodexed versions of ED01 the only problem I've run into is CWM recovery does not seem to be sticking with the official version. If you boot directly into recovery (using 3 button combo) immediately after flashing with Odin, you get CWM. But once you boot the phone, trying to go back to recovery (both manually shutting down and 3 button, or adb reboot recovery command) puts you back to the stock recovery instead. As stated, it does stick with the deodorized version of the ROM.

I am getting

*pushing rage
cannot sat 'rage.bin' : no such file or directory
*changing permissions on rage
unable to chmod /data/local/tmp/rage.bin: no such file or directory
* executing rage
/data/local/tmp/rage.bin: not found
* this may take several minutes

Then tells me later in the set up that some files already exist and others just plainly don't load.
I have tried this starting in storage mode and also just straight plugged in.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for all of your help DX!

C:\FascinateRoot_v02>adb push rage.bin /data/local/tmp/rage.bin
cannot stat 'rage.bin': No such file or directory

C:\FascinateRoot_v02>adb push rage.bin /data/local/tmp/rage.bin
cannot stat 'rage.bin': No such file or directory

C:\FascinateRoot_v02>adb push rage.bin /data
cannot stat 'rage.bin': No such file or directory

C:\FascinateRoot_v02>

This is what I get when I try to manualy push root.

Disable your anti virus and download the folder again..if you can't with internet explorer then use firefox

No problem. That is the method I prefer if the rom I'm using doesn't already have root with it. I believe the busybox version on that one is newer than the 1 click also.

How are you guys loading thru Clockwork on the official unrooted Froyo? Just to see how it looked and performed I went back to stock today and played with it. Couldn't root it and when I installed latest Clockwork with Odin it was blue and wouldn't work. I figured it was because phone wasn't rooted. Went back to Superclean.

You don't need root to access CWM Recovery but it does get wiped out after the first boot when you flash it. The only way to access it is to flash from Odin, then when you put your battery back in immediately boot to recovery with the 3 button (vol up + vol down + power) method. From there, you can do anything you wish in CWM but as soon as you reboot the system it will be gone.

Didn't know about booting into CWM first after the flash. Now I do. Don't know if I will try the official bloated again or not I was just messing around watching it rain today!

Thanks

If anyone has trouble with the 1 click method try installing the su-2.3.6.1+busybox1.19.zip in CWM.

I couldn't get the one-click root to work, so I did this and it worked great - Thanks! I don't flash any roms / etc., but I read here (same source, Thanks again) that you can use cwm recovery as kind of a one shot deal in order to flash this zip, and when you reboot the phone it's gone (other than the fact that you now have root!). I don't know what I would do without the forum. I will tell you during the process I saw the little android guy with a big bright yellow exclamation point in a warning sign, which kind of freaked me out.
