ok did that it also sais if i have tried rooting before it will not work , does z4root(temporary root ) count? or can i proceed

There are some root vidoes on you tube to be sure, but they might be for older versions.
Check the rooting PSA to first identify what root methods can apply to you and if you can't find a you tube for the version that you need just reply back here and we'll get you going.
you should be OK - but if you run in to problems just run the RUUs in that thread and it'll get you back to stock to start over.
Yeah i cant find any videos and i have read the PSA a couple of times but I'd rather see it being done than just being told how it is done

not sure of any video for that...but its just copy and paste commands and following step by step and you will have a successfully rooted evo. thats what i and alot of other members recommend. if you follow step by step, you really cant mess it up.
it never asked me if i wanted ot flash PC36IMG.zip it just asked me if i wanted ot update and i clicked yes... and now its updated 1-12 things and for RADIO V2 it says fail-pu in red next to it
also bootloader next to it - failed-IC in red and now its saying update failed do i want to reboot device what do i do>>?

7. After a moment your phone should show a Red Triangle with an Exclamation mark inside, at this point the script will take back over and start to make a NANDroid backup. If it hangs at the White htc EVO 4G screen for more than two or three minutes you will have to pull the battery and flash the PC36IMG file again. If it still hangs the second time around then you will have to flash the RUU and start over.

no dont disconnect....just give it a few...i just read the instructions and it should be making a nandroid for you and flashing the rom...you might see a green status bar in the middle of the screen?
