I'm having that same problem. (It's a new G5 for me, so my only experience is with Nougat.) I have the question posted in another thread:https://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-g5/804127-wont-stay-connected-4g-lte.html. If you find the fix, could you post it over there?

Yes, an LG G5 is $300 from Best Buy and it has the best price/performance ratio in 2017 and one of the best cameras in the market, especially its front facing camera. However, it sells cheap for a reason. The build quality may have critial issues after months of regular use, that is, this device is a lottery phone, you will love it or hate it.

If you keep it in a case and with a screen protector, there will be no issues at all.
