Our dedicated team said that security patch plan of LG G5 RS988 has been delayed because carriers requested some additional security requirements.

To fulfill the requirements, the security patch plan is delayed and release date is scheduled for end of the May.

I am confused.in the emails they sent you guys, they are only talking about security patch, not software/OS update. Am I missing something.

there's a way to flash the update. i don't know why some people claim that LG bridge finds it and that one guy on reddit got an OTA, neither of those worked for me.

apparently there is a separate branch of RS988 for something called Brightpoint or BPT that was on a different firmware branch, they were on 10D while we were on 11D. the OP of that reddit post got an OTA and i thought he was bull****ting since the screenshots were for 10H, which would make 0 sense with us being on 11_ already. Anyways, you can flash the kdz onto one of the regular RS988s that were on 11D, i did, it just factory resets everything so backup data

Excellent! I bought one on Saturday knowing that Android 7 might never come, but I guess I got lucky! Great news indeed, now I would be able to update as soon as the phone arrives this week. Btw, any issues on VZN network? I assume no, but worth asking, thanks.

For all LG G5 users that haven't gotten the update yet, I have the same model G5 that I bought a few months back and I just now got a notification to update my phone. I'm at work right now so can't update just yet. Will comment later with an update.

I have 7.0 now too. I noticed it was prompting me to download it at about 4pm eastern.
