Hey y'all. :)

I was wondering if any of you have found a way to successfully run any Windows applications on the Galaxy Note 8?

I did some searching and found an app called 'Wine' (v3.0) which I believe is not an emulator but a compatability layer app type thingy. :D It is supposed to let you run .exe apps full screen.

I installed Wine and ran the app. It said 'Setting up the Windows environment' then after that the message dissapears and there's nothing but a black screen. I left it running thinking that maybe it was still loading in the background but after 30 minutes the app window was still a black screen.

So if anyone knows about running Windows apps on the Galaxy Note 8 and has any suggestions for getting Wine to work or know any other apps which might work I'd be very grateful for your help.

Many thanks in advance. :)

So I will say right off the bat that I have never tried this, but I would like to know what apps do you want to run that don't exist as Android MS ports?

Have a look at this: https://www.techradar.com/news/sams...martphones-can-now-run-windows-10-more-easily

And this:

Hi @Tsepz_GP :)

Thank you for your post.

On my PC I have a really good app called 'Human Anatomy Atlas' by Visible Body. The same app for Android is available but right now I cannot afford the £23 it costs. I'm just trying to save a little money. I saw the Wine app and thought it would be interesting to see if it worked.

I wasn't expecting anything to work. It all seemed too simple and too good to be true. :)

The first link is about a cloud based running of windows, it's not native. And yeah, thats what I saw about the wine application layer being compatible with with android in version 3. But it doesn't work on my Note 8. :(

Thanks. But it's not massively important that I get Windows apps running on my Note 8 so please don't feel like you have to spend much time. But otherwise... yeah, go for it! :D
Haha! You got me curious about this, it would make the DeX Station even more useful

If I do find anything worth sharing I'll post it here. I do see some OnePlus users also have issues getting it to work.

There is a so called emulator app called limbo which aparently can run WinPE. The website I found it on looked a bit dodgy though so I gave it a miss.
