RUU 2.07.605 vs. RUU 2.10.605

I know vm notifier doesn't work but do you get a missed call notifier? That could be a clue to check vm. I don't know how.anyone could stand having no idea when someone leaves a crucial vm.

I haven't noticed any real comments regarding battery life. Anybody want to chime in please? Its important to me before loading this or not. Compare it to stock and the two leaks, if anyone would please?

Battery life is going to vary greatly from user to user. Even when the official ota finally shows up you're not going to see a dramatic difference. A small capacity battery and a 4.3" screen isn't going to result in good battery life no matter what. The best you could hope for is that Verizon will continue to improve upon their 4G radios/towers which will be more power efficient down the road.

Having been on Gingerbread since the first release, I can tell you that the 2.10 build and radio combination is the best we've seen yet.

Thanks! That's the only improvement that I really care about. It's great to hear you say that. I'm still waiting for the OTA, but a better radio has made me consider installing this 2.10 leak. We'll see how long I can hold out :)

Installing the full RUU does not require root. Going back to an older software version does. If you are not happy with the leak, then you must root in order to revert to stock.

When you run it do you lose the apps on the sdcard as well as those in phone memory? I know its ez to download them again but trying to remember all the settings and getting everything working again is such a pita!

I wonder what will happen to apps not compatible to gb when the ota comes?

Ive seen reports of weaker 4G signal on 2.10? Really need more people testing or at least reporting back

Joshua, sorry I didn't get back to you on the other thread... I used 4G LTE all weekend, and didn't have a single problem - no dropouts and decent speeds (comparable to what I was seeing before the GB leaks). It seems a bit quicker to lock onto an LTE signal when I reboot, and battery life *seems* a bit better than it did when running both the previous GB link and the last official Froyo update.

sitting next to my wife we used to get 4g instantly,, now after loading the 2.07.605ruu on my rooted TB
i only get 3g and she is rocking 4g right next to me,,,also i lost root after loading,,,,,is there any way to remove this rom ,if i boot into bootloader and try loading my backup stock rom it says update failed main version is newer ,,,,,Now i cant even boot into bootloader

I spent hours on this over the weekend to re-root my TB once I loaded 2.10.605. Here are the steps that I did to re-root:
1. Go to Revolutionary to get S-Off for your Hboot.
If you have backup ROM that you want to use, then you can place it on the root of your SD card as PG05IMG.zip and then reboot into bootloader to let it update.
If you do not have a backup, then
2. Go to [RUU] [Leak] 2.07.605.0 Official Gingerbread for the HTC Thunderbolt - Page 8 to process steps 6 through 9. This method will root the 2.07 or 2.10 versions.

I am currently running a rooted stock 2.10.605.1 build without any issues. :D

You could of saved yourself a lot of time by loading a stock rooted version of the 2.10 instead, but at least you know how the revolutionary method works now ;)

Ahh I gotcha I guess I read it wrong it sounded like maybe they just renamed what was already there. What does fast boot really do for you? I dont have that on. Also what does assisted dialing do and is it needed?

When fast boot is enabled, powering off the phone puts the phone into a "super-sleep" mode, using almost no battery. However, when you go to power it back up, you are back on the home screen in less than 10 seconds, and usually acquire a signal about 3-5 seconds after that.

This point, along with the SV-DO on the Thunderbolt are the two features that I feel truly set it apart it as an LTE phone. 4G phones as of right now all have rather poor battery life, however with the fast boot turned on (and with Juice Defender installed), I can keep my phone powered off when I do not need to be disturbed, then quickly power it on when I want to check SMS, emails, etc. I get home after a 10-hour work day with 70-80% battery left with the phone legitimately being used for about 2-3 hours.

Now with the assisted dialing... when I first saw that and the new option for Data Roaming, it made me think (and I kinda am still suspicious) that HTC likely copy+pasted the Droid Incredible 2's interface to the Thunderbolt. Why? The Thunderbolt is not a global phone, but the Incredible 2 is... assisted dialing is used for if you take the phone to Eurasia, it "assists" with dialing country codes and such. There is no need for it to be on if you are stateside.

I wonder if you use fast start if a restart of phone wipes memory to get rid of jamming or loss of signal if all you're doing is sleeping and waking?

Thanks for getting back anyway and adding to our library of info :-) I will know shortly just what you mean as I fly out to Denver (basking in LTE) tomorrow. I'm excited. Now to find a decent room for rent ha.

Think i'm going to take the plunge on the 2.10 update. Loading the file onto the SD card as I type...will report back on my opinion when its updated. Hope its good or i'll be learning how to root. lol

Edit: Well, the .zip I have doesnt have an MD5 when I check it with Astro. Should I trust it? It seems like the right file size.
