S Pen/Air Command Issue

All of a sudden, the S Pen will:

1. Not close the Air Command icon(s) when I push the button on the S Pen, and

2. Any action/icon chosen from the Air Command will take about 1:30 - 2 minutes to appear after I've tapped on it.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions for a fix to improve responsiveness?

My "go to" response if you have not already done it is to clear the system cache. Takes a couple of minutes at most, no loss of data, and it tends to fix a lot of odd problems.
