S10+ T-Mobile update rolling out Today

and before that on real FPS hardware the success rate was 100%, and it was FAST. 60% success rate is still a failure, not something to celebrate.
The FPS on my other phones was not 100%. The only time I have issues with the FPS on the S10+ is when I try to do it from the AOD screen with no thumb print display, and that's because I didn't put my finger on the right spot. When the thumb print display is there I get 100%. I have had 2 devices and both worked fine. Apparently there are people that are doing this wrong and there may be an issue of different skin effect how this works. Samsung will improve the under screen FPS. Go back to the note 4 FPS, that makes this look great. This is a first gen release. This is the risk of buying first gen phones, there may be issues that need tweaked. Samsung has proven over and over that they improve the technology. If a person wants safe proven technology that's been tweaked, the iPhone may be a better choice, if you want leading technology this is where you need to be, just remember sometimes first gen releases have some hiccups. Apple waits for the hiccups to be ironed out then copies it.

You couldn't have said it any better.

While I agree with some of what was said I am not sure I would say this is leading technology or that apples technology in the same space is copied, I have an XS and a 10+ and while they are both awesome phones, Apples FaceID is pretty damn seamless, works fast and gets out of the way.

Apparently you haven't tried the S10+ face unlock. I barely lift my phone a little and it's already recognized my face and unlocked the screen extremely quick. I have tried the iPhones face ID and its not even close as good as Samsung's. And I'm a neutral user, if I see something great about iPhones I will point it out, but face ID is definitely not one.

I'm not going to keep this going, I thought I was in the fingerprint forum. I didn't realize I was in the T mobile update forum, so I don't want to derail the topic. Mods, feel free to delete my post.

But it didn't start out that way. Many people were also having issue with the first gen Face unlock on the iPhone X.

Not to derail the topic of this thread.... But the S10 face unlock has little security. Can be easily fooled with a photo. Apple FaceID like Microsoft Windows Hello are in a different league.

I don't even know where to start. Face ID is in a different league compared to Android in built face unlock aka Samsung S10 face unlock (Not the Iris scanner like previous years). Android/S10 face unlock is not secure and doesn't use the same technology as face ID and the S10 face unlock can't be used with apps that support biometric unlock and Samsung pay for a reason.

I'm mean I get it overall it's not that big of a deal since no one is carrying a photo of me to unlock, I use it and like it but it's not the same as face Id.

That's true, and I agree it's not as secure as FaceID on the iPhone.

On the other hand, I don't work for the CIA or the government, so I am not worried about someone going to great lengths to trick my phone with a picture or something.

Also, one crazy thing about the FaceID is that you still have to swipe up after it reading your face. Samsung gives you the option of that or instant unlock upon showing your face. Apple could learn from this. Give people the option and let them make the choice. But with Apple, its either their way or nothing.

I think we can all agree, if you need to be real secure, face ID, face unlock, or FPS really aren't good options then. For most of us, these unlock features are to keep honest people honest, and convenience.

To keep this thread on Topic, anyone get the March update yet?

If it is starting to rollout per a previous post, shouldn't it be visible on smartswitch? I don't see.

Usually it wont until after couple days the OTA rolls out from my experience.
But make sure in smart switch you go to more >preference>check latest software update and the phone in box below it will pre-download the software when available.

Yep, have both selected. Thanks.

Have you updated thru firmwarescience or waiting for the OTA?
