S20 Firmware For Odin Flash?

Yea I've been saying that. Only people that have an actual S20 would know lol
Thats the thing with the s20 series if you want the carrier bloatware you need to flash carriers userdata file especially att if they want wifi calling etc... its not like the note series when you install the sim it will automatically boot up to that carrier and bloatware will automatically load up. Believe me lol........And I unlock phones repair imei and what not and I came across this demo mode. Any demo that can reboot to recovery and do a factory reset you can apply a new imei and everything will work.

So I decided to flash my Verizon locked S20U to unlocked. Seems to flow better through the UI. I thought having my system backed up would bring everything back, nope.

If you used Samsung cloud go under account back up and restore and choose restore , but anytime you go from carrier firmware to unlocked it will wipe or unlocked to carrier .

I was backed up using Google, makes sense the complete wipe going from carrier to unlocked. Biggest pain to set up is the home screen layout, notification and system settings. I was using Nova and saved my profile but it was lost in the wipe.

On the plus side, the flash was quick and painless. Will I be able to OTA the future releases?

Yeah , on Samsung it's best to use their cloud back up or smart switch on PC along with Google to have everything go back about 95 percent. Nova I make it's back up and put it in Google drive that way it's there even with wipes . Yes you'll get updates no problem.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking but anyhow you can flash tmobile firmware but might be in same boat like I mentioned all carriers firmware are universal just sim dictates what gets installed.

I have the same exact problem. Got an unlocked verizon from somebody thats paid off. I have tmobile, boot logo didnt appear, its still verizon. I am not getting 5g however the phone is working normal with 4g LTE, just lacking the 5g service.

What did you mean by that the phone might not be fully unlocked? Please help out its driving me nuts to get 5g working. Network mode 5g option is not available. Options are global, lte/cdma, lte/cdma/umts only.

Does using Home CSC preserve all of your settings, etc?
Will it work going from unlocked to locked and visa versa?

Is U1 XAA the same package as U1 VZW?
Also, if I end up upgrading this phone and sending it back to Verizon, should I reflash it to locked?

Home csc is used to preserve settings and no factory reset if you on carrier firmware and going to different carrier firmware, same if your unlocked and going to different carrier firmware.
If you go from carrier to unlocked or unlocked to carrier it will factory reset . I dont mean sim unlocked, the ones that come from Samsung unlocked like SM-G988U1 UNLOCKED SM-G988U CARRIER example

No you won't brick , these are Samsung stock firmware , this NOT root or anything else

As long as safe ill do it lol is it complicated? And what did you mean by temporary unlock with previous post? Is that like a temporary unlock?

And once firmware flashed, phone converts to tmobile and 5g will work? Do i need to change my sim card too maybe?

So for me, I have a Verizon locked Ultra and I flashed to U1 VZW. Home CSC would not preserve setting, device was wiped.

I appreciate it, thanks for your help. I need to crrate backup to samsung switch coz pbone gets wiped right?
Always make a back up .

This won't wipe when you use home csc , this will put tmobile firmware , so use home csc in the csc slot .

This is the steps :

Windows computer needed

Latest Odin can Google it and download should be 3.13.1 or 3.14.1 / or Frija tool

Download samfirm v0.4.1 tool and frija, extract it with 7zip.

You will extract files for Odin 3.14.1once download with 7zip and will do same for firmware with 7zip .

Put your model number SM-G988U...region TMB select check for updates , then download the FIRMWARE , extract the FIRMWARE with 7zip.

There will be 4 files after you extract the firmware

BL

AP

CP

CSC

Each of those files will go in Odin when you open to the corresponding slots

BL

AP

CP

CSC USE HOME CSC FIILE TO SAVE DATA

Home data slot dont put nothing

connect your phone with cable to computer , once the files are in its slots hit start, once done you'll see pass in Odin and it will reboot

*Make sure you put phone in download mode
*If dont see your phone connected in Odin change cables or ports in computer .
