When you go to navigation in settings under disappay it gives you 2 options Samsung and Google , with Samsung it gesture are 3 at bottom and Google is one gesture at bottom and one on the side to swipe back

That's the one I have enabled and I have the latest Nova Beta. If you go to the Nova Discord it mentions this bug and there's nothing they can do about it.When you go to navigation in settings under disappay it gives you 2 options Samsung and Google , with Samsung it gesture are 3 at bottom and Google is one gesture at bottom and one on the side to swipe back
I wonder if it's device specific? I have the S21 Ultra from Verizon. Maybe there's a possibility that the unlocked model doesn't have this bug? Hopefully android 12 will fix this.

That message in Nova been there since Android 10 , im on the unlocked Note 20u , so maybe unlocked is different but in my opinion can't see why.That's the one I have enabled and I have the latest Nova Beta. If you go to the Nova Discord it mentions this bug and there's nothing they can do about it.

My s21 ultra just got updated to Nova Launcher 7 and I am happy to report that the lag that I was experiencing before, which made me create this post, has been resolved (knock on wood). It was weird that I was only experiencing on my Samsung phone. No other phones did I experience this slight lag. But I am glad that Nova 7 now resolved the issue.

I just tried with my S21 and Nova 7 (not beta - from playstore) and unfortunately this flickering/delay is still there.
To be clear, this happens when using gestures to get back to the home screen from an app - the "swipe from sides and bottom" settings - the regular google one. ("swipe from bottom" gestures work ok, but are not very practical)
As far as I understand, this issue is completely in the Samsung's hands... so.. hopefully they do something about that - isnt there any thread that they are monitoring to bug them about that?

Thats google issue as its Google swipe navigation gesture on 3rd party launcher, Samsung swipe gestures dont have this experience , i had with Google swipe gestures but that was way back going last year

Can email them let them know but i think they already do since andriod 10 , yeah i liked the Samsung gestures in beginning but google implementation was much more desired for me .

I may have spoke too soon. I noticed a slight flickering/delay still, even after nova 7. I think it is a combo of Samsung and Google, because, as I mentioned, I never had this issue on any other phones before when using Nova. I've used Google phones, Huawei, and Oneplus. None of those phones experienced this issue. Just my Samsung. However, on my Samsung Tab S6, which I have Nova on it as well, I do not experience the issue. So maybe it's the actual phone

I keep going back to Nova even though the gestures aren't perfect. Does anyone know if the gestures are any better on One ui 4.0 beta?

I'm using Google gestures. Those are the ones that are buggy on Nova. I prefer to swipe from the edges to go back instead of from the bottom.

Like what does it doing that's buggy ? I'm not having issues Note 20u with Google gestures and Nova

When I swipe up to go home, if I immediately click on another app to open it, the screen will flicker. The second tap will open the app.
