S22 Ultra Battery Poor

I'm actually pretty pleased wirh mine most of the time. A lot feel 7 hours isn't that good, but really unless you work from your phone 7 hrs SOT on one charge is all you need. And one of them youtube underreported it's usage because I watched 3 hours of content on it and still got 7 hrs 28 minutes SOT and 1 day 2 hours overall. I do have some things throttled down to help, but it doesn't really feel like it's throttled. Performance and processing speeds are still very good.

Once they learn your usage patterns and you figure out that perfect blend of using/not using-- ie watching stuff in spurts instead of all at once, these phones can dole out respectable battery performance.

Just picked mine up and with a device like this I don't expect great battery life I just have chargers everywhere so I never get low. When I am out and about I carry a portable battery charger with me. I never believe what the manufacturer says the battery should be it's never accurate.

Over the first week or 2 my battery got better and better.

I have never worried about battery life on any device not one. There are so many charger options out there you shouldn't have any worry at all.

I've always been curious about how people struggle with battery life. I just assume they use their device in a completely different manner than I do. I can't imagine a situation/life where I start my day, unplug my phone, and expect to use it regularly throughout the day while having a 40% charge at the end of the day, before plugging it in again.

From a security standpoint, I always want to be ready to be stranded without any charging options. In an emergency, you need that phone to function when everything else fails.

Keep it (mostly) charged.

I was debating on going through warranty with Verizon but dont know how much good it will do to get a replacement.

Just reading some old comments after reading the new ones and wondering is this really a warranty issue or concern?

I mean you posted before this, "I have a Verizon 512gb S22 Ultra and it has the same battery life as my previous s21 ultra which got pretty solid battery life. This one is garbage..."

If you are getting the same battery life with the S22U that you did with the S21U, how is that garbage if, I am guessing, you are using the phone the exact same way?

I've posted elsewhere I feel this battery is no better or worse than my last phone and N20U and that phones is a year older than yours with a smaller battery. The S21U has a 5000 MAH battery. The S22U has a 5000 MAH battery. If you are getting the same battery life that you did with the S21U how is it trash?

I think the "struggle" for some/many may really just be in their heads?

I've said a few times, I don't think it's a great battery at iPhone 13 Max level but isn't any worse than my N20U.

I unplug at 7am every morning and watch my phone near end of day and it gets my attention when I get to 40% near end of day and by the time I plug back in I could be around 25-30%. That's around my normal usage patterns so ymmv.

I kind of think the battery is "average" when I see that but then I forget I set my phone to charge up to 85% max... so when I see 25% at end of day I have to remember I didn't use 75% of my battery on the full day, I left 15% on the table by not charging to 100% and I really used a little over half. I would have close to half battery if I were to charge 100% every day. Not bad.

I've been thinking keeping an eye on the % causes unnecessary attention/concern and maybe Apple didn't have a bad idea when they removed the % on the status bar a while back (Funny they are bringing it back in iOS 16). I've been thinking recently of removing the battery % at the top of screen. I stopped checking SOT and removed AccuBattery because I realize SOT differs with everyone and if it shows you are getting 2-3 hours SOT less than the other person what does it mean? That you use your phone differently from others that's all.

I personally think they just don't know how to use a Samsung phone period.

Have to include me on that list cause there is no way I can get the SOT that you show. You're the reason I uninstalled the AccuBattery app!! :D

But I go with the seat of my pants test now... If I get better through the day, day+half I'm good. :)

I did remove the battery % on the top of the screen on my S22 Ultra, even though I'm running the beta Android 5.

I've had mine since the last Tuesday of February, since I preordered, and Samsung sent it a few days early. I haven't had any issues with the battery even when streaming YouTube, Netflix or Hulu for 2+ hours at max resolution using mobile data instead of WiFi. The lowest the battery ever got was 30%.
