S22 Ultra Camera Reviews

Agree. And that first one is backlit with the windows which will affect an auto mode on most cameras. I guess one reason why I am looking to load camera raw and use the pro mode. Auto modes, even on my Nikon DSLRs suck big time.
I prefer pro mode too, but I originally learned to take photos using an all manual Canon F1 SLR.

Never tried pro mode on a phone, yet. However, all my years of using Nikons starting back in the film days to now with digital, I have never used a DLSR on auto mode. Usually aperture priority, which has a direct affect on the shutter speed. Not even sure if the pro mode on this S22 will have the same features. It will be a learning experience that's for sure.

It appears there is no aperture priority mode; however, there is a speed mode, direct correlation to aperture so I'll be given that a try. However, there is no setting that can compensate for experience. And extreme backlit conditions are not favorable to any photo. But sometimes it is the only photo available.

Maybe there is a use for an operator's manual....

Pro mode / Pro video mode

• ISO: Select an ISO value. This controls camera light sensitivity. Low values are for
stationary or brightly lit objects. Higher values are for fast-moving or poorly lit objects.
However, higher ISO settings can result in noise in pictures or videos.

• SPEED: Adjust the shutter speed. A slow shutter speed allows more light in, so the picture
or video becomes brighter. This is ideal for pictures or videos of scenery or pictures or
videos taken at night. A fast shutter speed allows less light in. This is ideal for capturing
pictures or videos of fast-moving subjects.

• EV: Change the exposure value. This determines how much light the camera’s sensor
receives. For low-light situations, use a higher exposure.

• FOCUS: Change the focus mode. Drag the adjustment bar to manually adjust the focus.

• WB: Select an appropriate white balance, so images have a true-to-life colour range. You
can set the colour temperature.

• MIC: Select which direction’s sound you want to record at a higher level. You can also use
a USB or Bluetooth microphone by connecting it to your device (Pro video mode).

• ZOOM: Adjust the zoom speed (Pro video mode).
That is very helpful for our members without experience using manual camera settings. Thanks for posting this tip.

I'm not sure about that s pen getting jammed up I actually tried my Note 10 extra s pen and it worked with no issues as well on this phone...

I've also been one that never use pro mode on any phone.. my pics are usually easy I don't have fast moving pets or kids...

I don't use pro mode if I'm just taking a picture of something in a store to compare prices elsewhere or taking a picture of a document. Pro mode is only for something intended to be a photograph like when I shot film.

Good point. Most likely when I get the S22 many photos will be taken in auto mode such as when disassembling an item to have reference for assembling, serial numbers of components, vehicles, etc. for registration and parts lookup. I'll continue to use MS LENS for document photos; converts them to PDF docs.

However, a photo like this taken with the 4XL could have been a heck of a lot better in pro mode, and a lot better hours later when the sun was not directly in my sights giving me a problem.
