First hello all and thanks in advance for your help. Second anyone else tired of their Droid being turned into a fruit phone? Take away removal battery, take away SD card etc etc. The latest update has caused by apps to only be accessible vertically if sorted by alpha. If I choose "custom" it will allow panels to swept right or left but alpha goes back to vertical which I loathe. Tech support was less than helpful. Has anyone encountered this and found a work around? I dk to want to spend however long it would take arranging all my apps alphabetically and then they screw it up again.

I used to love Nova, but after last year's layoffs it's pretty much dead now (and even the latest beta is known to be buggy on OneUI 6 and 7, but still usable). You can give that a go, it's pretty customizable. Niagara is another popular one but I've never used it,so can't speak on it.

Welcome to Android Central forums. This was well known by many looking for the update and checking out information on the Beta. SpookDroid is correct, in that it cannot be done automatically. However, everything says you can manually place the apps in any order you'd like, so you could choose custom, and then alphabetize them yourself. Or you could just group them by first letter. To be honest that's probably as close as I would get if I were to have to do it for myself. All of the A's are first, then the B's, just grouped not perfect. Just saying.

The reason I bring this up is because, changing launchers is going to be a way bigger hassle and learning curve than just some mixed up app icons. You won't have to learn a whole new Settings menu and options, although you might enjoy being able to change the appearance more than you can with the stock UI but it is all about how far you'll go for this one thing.

Good luck and best wishes. Let us know what route you went.
