s3 doesn't come out of sleep

all of a sudden my s3 r andomly, one a day doesnt come out of a sleep. i then have to pull the battery to get it to restart. i have launcher nova and recently downloaded a theme, does anyone think that would be the problem. is this something i need to take back to verizon

I am getting the same thing. Its happening more and more. I eventually did a factory refresh and it started happening again. I do notice it happens after I used stock browser and don't go back to home screen. Not sure what's up.

Stock browser was the problem for me with this issue. I switched to chrome and it hasn't come back. I have tested the theory and when I go back to the stock browser if I try to wake up the phone too quickly it will freeze. If I let it go all the way to sleep, wait a second (instead of the day to prevent it from sleeping or catching the screen turning off and waking then) that it doesn't always freeze but sometimes still will.

Try switching the browser, it worked for me and is an easy fix. The only thing I miss with chrome is flash (rarely) but otherwise it is better in almost every way.

I'll have to try Chrome again because this has happened to me 3 times in 3 days. All 3 times when it came back there was a new Gmail.

There's a few post on this problem. Some say its a software glitch, others (including myself) think it has something to do with using multiple batteries and/or the phones battery connector.

I'm on my 3rd S3, this one has no issues.
The other 2 would not come out of sleep after I had the phone in my pocket and some pressure from sitting down. One of my phones I noticed it would sleep before an app update notification.

Like I said, no sleeping on this 3rd phone

I have been using the battery that came with the phone and don't have an extra. Not sure if it has to do with the problem I was seeing. I never had any issues with notifications causing the phone to not wake. It always happened with the browser. Not sure about the op but if it was the same issue I would assume software not a hardware issue.

Question is, are we all having the same issue or are they slightly different?
