S6 has shown its face, I'll be sticking with the S5 :)

I am not upgrade eligible until March 2016 so I am hoping S7 is out by then and has a removable battery and SD card.. Deal breakers for me also..

So Lets Look at what the Differances are
1. S5 has a SD slot
2. It has a removerble battery
3. Its water Proof
4. It has Full USB 3 support
5. You can change the back cover to what ever you want
So why is the press going silly over the S6
Its metal ooooooo ok
Its thinner..... not that any one was intrested
Its got a Glass back Yippppppeee we can be like upset iphone users when there backs cracked
it had a better screen that uses more battery Yipeeeeee Not
I have the S5 and its Fastenough and has every thing the only phone that can touch this is the G3
but thats not water proof
Samsung has taken them self out of the running when they thought they were putting them self back in, they have mad a nice midrange phone and thats it

It seems Samsung's only concern is the customers who like to take selfies 24/7 whilst saying "why yes my phone cost a grand".... Sad but true....

Need waterproofing, Loved S5 for that...

S6 has Wireless charging.. OMG that should have been on the S5 instead we have the plastic port cover.

NO SD SLOT and a STATIC battery..
Absolute deal breaker.

This is not a leap forward.. This is a leap into iPhone territory, Yeah great, we have a nice slippery glassy back, no SD card slot and and a non-removable battery.

Make the the surround metal, YES! but don't remove the stuff that set's the phones apart from iPhone's .
Maybe HTC for me next.

No liking the way Samsung are going with the phones.

This is worse than I expected. Glass back is ridiculous too. This thing has the durability and flexibility of an iPhone 4 with Samsung software. Worst of all worlds.

I can't think of a reason to buy the S6.
Well, to be fair, the iPhone 4/s wasn't using Gorilla Glass 4 which is stated by Corning to be 2x as strong as GG3...and GG3 was likely several times stronger than the glass used for the iPhone 4/s. ...so I don't really think it's the same.

I really like the look of the Gs6 and even though I use to be the type to use a bunch of extra batteries, I have recently just been using my battery banks when needed. My only concern with non removable batteries is what to do after you've exhausted the amount of recharges?

Also since I've really invested in cloud backup accounts the lack of SD is not that big of a deal. My only other immediate concern with the Gs6 is the lack of water resistance. That feature has saved my gs5 at least 3 times in the past yr and I realize it's usefulness.

I may wait for a gs6 active or sport. But idk I really like the look of that gs6 edge 😊

I have no desire to upgrade to the S6, even with the issues Lollipop is giving me.

If next year the S7 still has no removable battery and SD card I may as well get a Nexus since a removable back was the only thing stopping me from getting one.

If the G4 has a removable battery and SD card support it may get real popular with some enthusiasts.

I am almost eligible for an upgrade from my S5 and had planned on upgrading to the S6 until I read the specs - I'm not willing to give up my expansion slot with my 32 G SD card and other features that I like about the S5 just to get the S6 - will hang on to it until I see a phone (not the iPhoney - I dislike apple products) that I am willing to buy. I like Samsung's products - I bought the Galaxy Tab 2 a few years ago and upgraded last year to the Galaxy Tab S when I bought my Galaxy S5. Samsung seems to be making some mis-steps in their product line lately.

My phone has to be able to take some water , and dust or it may as well stay in the car. I work in a feed mill with lots of dust and love to fish from a canoe and take photos of my fish. My S5 is just right for me.

I think (or, maybe more of a hope) that the non-removable battery will not be that big of an issue in S6 with improved power consumption of the hardware, and as applications start making use of Lollipop's battery-enhancing capabilities (project Volta etc). With my S4 and shattered glass, I think I'll go for S6.

I think there will be Mophie-style battery cases with removable storage for the S6. There will be a market.

I guess they spent so much money on that curvy screen there wasn't any left for actually useful things like the SD slot, removable battery, or water resistance. I sure hope my S5 lasts a while!

Reading all this sure makes me happy I caved and went with the S5 instead of waiting for the S6 when I upgraded last week. 😌
+1. My S3 was dying fast after its hundredth fall and I almost waited for the S6, but I'm glad I didn't. I'm less concerned about the storage, but I'm battery obsessed and not having a replaceable battery is a non starter for me.

I'm going to hang onto my S5 as long as I can. The S6 looks good, but pretty is as pretty does. The S6, with no SD slot and, even worse, no replaceable battery, just doesn't do it for me. In addition, I really don't care for the idea of a slippery glass back on a phone. Thanks, but no thanks.

To expand on my $am$ung comments earlier...

This is my total cost of ownership analysis of a $am$ung S6 64G vs an S5 w/ 64GB SD card:

$150 ($200 estimated upgrade fee from 32 -> 64 GB S6 - $50 SD card cost)
$240 ($10/month cloud storage x 24 months)
$100 (1 battery replacement)
---------------------------------
$490 total

Add another $100 if that replacement battery has some mileage on it by the time you sell. Add another $50 if you already own an SD card and don't need to buy one. Your TCO could be up to $640.

Compared to the $200-$300 you would have otherwise paid for the phone, $am$ung and friends are doubling or tripling your costs, depending on the specifics of your situation. $am$ung sees that Apple is a bigger financial success than technology success and wants to emulate.

Fact of the matter is that the people who will really, truly care about non-removable battery and sd card slot are in a ridiculous minority. *The masses of people that buy Samsung phones aren't here poring over details of the phone, they're John and Jane Doe walking into a store, saying "ooh, it's pretty" and buying it on contract. *

Out of the 10% or so of Samsung's customers that care to know the details, probably 2-3% at most will actually walk away from it because of those reasons. *However, the iPhoners that are on the fence about switching may have just found the one device they really want, and they also won't care about SD cards and non-removable batteries.

Point is, the details matter to us very vocal, but also very minor few. *All of us aside though, Samsung definitely has a winner on its hands and ditching removable batteries and sd cards is going to win them far more than it will cost them.
