S6 has shown its face, I'll be sticking with the S5 :)

The trend that I'm seeing here is that a lot of the enthusiasts on this forum, including myself, enjoy removables. However, I think we're more of the market targeted by the Note series. While I sincerely hope the Note 5 doesn't lose the removables it might. If it does, I'd just have to live with that as I have no plans to abandon the Note series.

I too hope $am$ung keeps the Note line as a professional or power users series. I would definitely move to a Note either this year or next.

Well Samsung just released (or unveiled, I should say) the new S6.
Its a Nice handset, but not a Giant leap (other than maybe price wise) as rumors would have had you believe.
I do like the 32gb base model - just still like removable SD cards too. Which it lacks sadly.
I'll probably be sticking with my ugly but killer S5 for awhile still ;)

If you have the s5 why would you want the s6? Nothing wrong with the s5 unless you just have money to blow.

Could be a hobby. A phone is such an oft-used tool that its not outlandish to want to change it more than once in 2-3 years or to have more than one.

I had an incident once where my battery started to swell up and got ready to explode. Luckily for me since I do a battery pull every so often, I was able to stop using that battery. This is the reason why being able to remove the battery is such a big deal to me.

We are not talking about 2-3 years. The s5 came out last year.

, they can even integrate a micro SD card reader if they think it'd sell well. We shall see.

📱6+🐜
I bought one of these because I have several micro SD cards, some from my old MP3 player, some from my tablet's and from my phones. So there are readers out there. But it's an inconvenience and if what I want isn't with me, it's not good. I still would rather have a large memory in my phone to begin with.

That happened to my Droid 4, with a NON removeable battery. So I had to shut off the phone (suggested everywhere I read) and then wait to find a landline to call, send it back and wait for a new phone. Not good. That's why I like the S5 with the removeable battery. Plus if I want to keep it longer, I can just pop in a new battery and it will last longer during the day.

Actually a lot of buyers like to upgrade early so they sign up for things like Verizon Edge or T-Mobile Jump which allows them to upgrade every year. Costs extra, but it's like a savings plan.
I've read other's that this is their "hobby" so they save money or invest in technology. You might prefer to buy yarn and crochet. Some find ways to do several "hobbies:".

A lot of people get a new phone every year. Nothing wrong with that. Some enthusiasts get a new phone more often. The tech moves fast.

Nothing wrong with that for sure. I mean I myself went from a 5s to a G3 to 6plus in one year so I understand. But I am not the norm.

AT&T has nearly cost the price of the Galaxy Alpha in half at $320. I was tempted for a couple of seconds.
