For about a year I've had issues with my S7 Edge display. The tests I've done indicate it is NOT related to Automatic Brightness or Adaptive Display.
1. The always on clock got dimmer and dimmer
2. The blacks in the display became lighter gray so that the whole display was "washed out".
3. I began to see "banding" in gradient areas that used to show gradual gradient.
4. Now I have a solid magenta line running down the middle of the display.
I've owned enough phones to know this display is dying. My question is this:
Can I go to my local cellular repair place and just pay $200 and get a replacement screen? Will that solve the issue? Or does this sound like a deeper issue that I need to send it back to Samsung? Being without my phone of course is going to be a huge pain.
