S8 Keeps Unmounting SD Card

[Android Central Question]

I have a S8 with a 64GB samsung micro sd card which ive used flawlessly since i got the phone on release date. However since last night out the blue, its keeps unmounting and remounting the sd card randomly, several times a day. Is there a fix for this?

It depends on what's causing it. Have you tried just restarting the phone? Or taking the SD card out, wiping the contacts with a freshly-washed handkerchief and putting it back in?

I had a similar issue with my old Note 4 and Samsung Tablet. When I sent my tablet into Samsung, they could not give me a reason as to why I had the issue, but they put a 2GB Samsung branded card in and no issue. When I got the tablet back, it was working fine with the 2GB card. I put my SanDisk back in and the issue came right back. I thought it to be just a silly excuse to buy their product, but since changing to a Samsung card, the issue has completely gone away.

I've cleaned the contacts of the card thoroughly and also performed a factory reset on the phone...but i'm still getting the same issue. Every app that uses the sd card eg gallery crashes upon opening

Are there any other solutions to try?
