S9 car charging very slowly...adaptive fast charger bought with 3.0

[Android Central Question]

I drive alot for work so i use waze alot.....but when i have it plugged into my car adapter which has 3.0 quick charge...it either stays on the same percentage or drops....the obly way i csn get the charge to increase is if i turn the screen off....then it increase....but means i have to keep turning my phone on and off to see where i am going and to get some positive charge.....anyone else have the same issues?
