Sad battery life

Prey Tracker was what I found to be killing my battery life. After I found that to be the problem I started getting great life.

When I was getting good battery life I had Beautiful Widgets, Glass News Widgets, Android Pro Widgets (Facebook), ESPN sportscenter widget, and Widgetsoid.

All running, all giving me ~15hours moderate usage. More than enough to get me through the day.

For the past two days, something started waking up my phone when the screen is off. I think it might be the Android Lost app that just updated. That, or my data/wifi keeps blinking between grey and blue. That might be the cause. Don't know yet.

I see, I was going to try and take your advice so I removed most of my widgets and uninstalled a lot of the apps I have just in case but I never use, currently I only have circle battery, widgetsoid, switch pro and swipe pad but just this morning with 25 min on screen time over 4 hours its drained almost 30% already. So I'm just gonna top off when I'm near an outlet and just not worry about it :) oh well, kudos for an almost perfect phone! Thanks for your help!

I have had the same problem as the o p. My initial galaxy nexus I had wonderful battery life until about 2 weeks ago. Then I could only get approximately 12 hours of battery life with the same settings. Recently I exchanged my galaxy nexus for a new 1 due to an issue with the screen. Since that time I am now getting 2 days of battery life with the same exact applications as the previous galaxy nexus. I can't pinpoint what has changed but clearly something seems to get activated after a couple of weeks. I will look to see if this new galaxy nexus will have the same issues of my old 1. Until then I am very careful and not downloading any applications that I am not using currently. I am also very careful not to activate any applications that could potentially drain my batteries in the background such as google talk or google music. So far so good.

Fyi my wifi is on all the time too yet I get almost 48h out of my battery on the new phone! Bluetooth though is a real sink so I manually toggle it off when I can.

The issue for me turned out to be the non-official Swype. I've been getting great battery life with it uninstalled and using stock keyboard.
