Safest way to go from factory fresh to FlyX? :)

Gentlemen need your help! I made it to the place where you are suppose to reboot into recovery by holding in the power button and home key to install the update.zip from sd card... keep getting the triange and little droid guy? I am rooted but with the one click method by universal androot.. the phone will boot back normally. I do have rom manager and tried reflashing recovery but did not help..tried manually booting from there also but phone just booted back to normal skipping the screen?

When you boot into recovery and see the little droid guy and the triangle, hit the search button and the menu will pop up.

wow you are folks are fast! Found that on mydroidworld but now getting orror message cannot verify signature aborted ..reboot? Do not know if matters but downloaded zip file directly to my droid instead of using laptop or desktop and copying to phone?

It is...but unzipped just the way i downloaded it.

Just make sure that it's on the root of the SD card and named update.zip

I Froyo and FlyX'd my Droid X yesterday and am floored by the performance. I took the phone of the charger at 7:30 am, have been using it moderately/heavily throughout the morning, and am still at 90% on battery. It's way snappier, too, flying between screens and around the web. These guys hit this thing out of the park. Of course, I'm not really sure exactly what FlyX fundamentally *is*, but whatever - it works great for me.

UPDATE: Quadrant score of 1340. Sheesh.

Quick question -- I installed FlyX from the ROM Manager today, but had an issue with the sync CONSTANTLY staying on and killing my battery. It looks like some people who have used Titanium Backup to recover accounts have had this issue. Regardless, I've flashed back to the 2.2 leak (rooted). Is the FlyX download still on my SD card? I made this backup right AFTER downloading FlyX, but before installing it. I think I'm going to hold off on FlyX for awhile, so I want to ensure the file's not taking up any room on my SD card. I appreciate any insight you all can offer.

Will deleting the update.zip file rename from the rooting process mess with anything once i rename the froyo leak file to update.zip?

I am running 2.1>rooted>2.2 leak1>flyx with no mods and nothing removed and no problems thus far but only been on it for a couple of days(love it btw!)Super smooth and greatly improved battery life(i use my phone alot) sound speaker as far as incoming ring tone plenty loud.

recovery failure

i keep tryin to load flyx. followed all of the supplied steps, but i keep getting this recovery failure message when i re-enter the rom manager after a system reboot. i did install flyX through rom manager premium... lookin for any and all help, much appreciated
