Just called a few Gamestops stores here in St Louis.

First one, said they just got an email few hours ago indicating they cannot take preorders until tomorrow and then they owuld be available in August.

The other store indicated the same thing.

I am hoping my google preorder comes in soon

Yup I ended with a membership cause it was cheaper to get then to pay the 10% on 2 of them

Thanks to you guys I got the tip to check with Sams Club in my area. First one I went to showed 5 in stock, but after searching high and low, they could not find it. Went to Sams #2 and they even had it on display and also had 5 available. Seems that their initial stock was 5.....just got home and charging/playing, but so far, real nice, coming from iPad/Samsung Galaxy 7 plus. (Still have iPad, and love it also though)

I can also confirm that my local Sam's Club had them in stock. As of 12:30 PM EST, they had 7 (ha!) left at the Sam's Club on Corunna Road in Flint, Michigan. No idea if I was the first purchase.

I was in Sam's in Raleigh, NC for some other stuff and saw several on display on one of their mid-aisle tables. One of them is lying next to my laptop on the charger.

My local Sam's Club had 15 in stock. I called every GameStop almost in our state just to see what was going on. I still have one coming from the Play Store, but I have a friend who is going to by that one from me. So weird that SC would be the hero of the day.

I walked into my local Sam's first thing this morning in Kansas city and they had a few left. Grabbed one and have been loving it ever since. If you don't have a membership you will pay around 25 dollars extra so your better off buying the membership. I know you can get a full refund on your membership if you take it back and say you don't want it anymore. Then you just got that 25 dollars back! Not that I recommend this, I'm just saying.

The Sam's in Des Moines IA doesn't have any. Seems no stores have any in stock. Game Stop only had enough for pre-orders. Office Depot said they are coming soon. Staples wouldn't answer the phone.
Iowa remains a tech black hole as usual...
