Samsung A50 screen won't turn on when not charging

[Android Central Question]

Okay so backstory: I dropped my phone in water, and after blanketing it in rice for a while, in order to "suck out" the water, the phone screen only decides to turn on when it's charging. Also, before this started happening, the media volume decided to not work which caused me to restart my phone.

I don’t think rice trick really works as well as the theory goes. It sounds like you did some damage to the phone internally when it dropped into water. The A50 is not waterproof or water resistant so if it got dunked in water it is probably damaged.

Should have a repair center take a look at it.
