Could VZW's "bloatware" be their ISIS Mobile Payment platform? It would be a very good reason to delay their launch over other carriers as they have to be dead sure it works and is as secure as they can make it before its released to their customers.

Verizon will have to launch it someday... this is the perfect phone to start with.

Or maybe some sort of cloud service to replace dropbox's 50gb

Doubtful. Verizon offers their own and will try their darndest to get you to pay for it.


The only thing I like about cloud is streaming stored movies and that is why I prefer to use Minus. The upload limit is much higher and I got 25 gb free.

I just called into Verizon for a separate issue pertaining to my account. The CS agent mentioned that she saw my order for the GS3. I confirmed and said I was looking forward to getting the device. She kind of blurted out "Oh those will be shipping very soon".

"Before July 9th???" I inquired...

She then just chuckled and said "I can't say, but you will have your phone very soon"

Hope its true, but maybe she was screwing with me .

Usually if one or two reps say a different release date than the one that is rumored/announced then it should be taken with a grain of salt. But it looks like a lot of reps are saying the 28th so who knows...

I had the same experience last night. I called about a non GS3 related issue.

I'm leaning towards the 28th as my guess.

I hope it's sooner then later but even if it's July 9th, well now we are at the halfway point if you ordered on June 6.

I just tried calling best buy and Verizon, just to check on the rumors. Best buy still claims that they have not been communicated with about any time frame. Verizon rep says she's still showing July 9th on my order. I asked if there was any chance it'd be sooner and she said no very confidently.

Ok on my way back from GNC store,I couldn't resist stopping by Vzw corp.store.
I was met at door told them just looking for S3 accessories.The guy told me that even if he had accessories he couldn't sell them till July 6th.I then said I pre ordered the S3 and ask him of he knew anything of.He said that phone wouldn't be officialy launched by Vzw til July 6.So I asked did he think I might get my phone before July 9th?
He said again no I couldn't possibly get it before July 6th.He said that it would either be a shipped to me on July 9, or it might mean I will receive it July 9.
Anywho rather that be information or disinformation that's what I was told.

I heard the same thing from both a Verizon rep and Costco.com (Wireless Advocates) rep regarding receiving the GS3 before July.

As I mentioned in a different post, Costco wireless offers a mail in rebate of $25. The funny thing about the rebate is that when I placed my order a week ago, I questioned the terms on the rebate which states:

"To receive $25 Cash Back for purchasing a Samsung Galaxy S III on a 2-Year New Agreement or
Qualified Upgrade during the Preorder event on Costco.com between 6/8/12 ? 6/27/12:
1. A Samsung Galaxy S III must be purchased and activated on an VERIZON New Two Year Activation (Lines 1-5) or Qualified Upgrade on Costco.com during the Preorder Event.
2. Purchase Order and Activation must be made between the dates of June 8th, 2012 ? June 27th, 2012.
3. VERIZON service must be active at time of redemption"

I questioned line number 3 with the Wireless Advocate rep since the phone was technically not going to be activated until the "expected date" of July 10. The rep said, not to worry and the rebate will be valid.

I'm wondering if We will have a phone shipped and activated by the 27th of June?

FYI-- the rebate dates I posted is the new dates that have been adjusted. The original date on the rebate form was from June 8 - June 21 Activation. I noticed the new date just today on the rebate form.

today i went into two different verizon stores while at the mall. I asked about the galaxy s3. one store said they wernt being told of a release date.. the other store asked me why i want that phone because it probably wont be out till mid to end of july. He tried to sell me the galaxy nexus today. I said why would i want that. he said he can sell to me for $50.00. I told him I aleady preordered the phone. His reply was well if you get this phone i wouldnt have to wait. LOL ever since these verizon workers are no longer assigned to a store they get paid by commsion now. they will sell you anything even if they dont know about the product.. Pretty sad. The big guns at verizon should educate their employees better. because its just giving Verizon a bad name. Oh well. Im still waiting patiently till my phone comes in. I look at it this way if for whatever reason this phone just keeps getting delayed (which I highly doubt) they may come out with another bigger and better phone we can all switch to JK
