I have my own Synology NAS setup (4TB) which auto backups photos and videos from all our family members phones, even when we are outside. I rely on samsung backup only for call logs, messages and samsung notes backup.

Hmmm, I never thought about doing that. I have a Synology NAS but never thought about backing up my phone to it. That's a good idea.

I thought about a NAS setup but after reading reviews I am a little hesitant in pulling the trigger. From setup difficulty to system corruption. For now I'll stick my 200 GB from Google and 1 TB One Drive.

Synology pretty straight forward to setup. Also their system comes with minimum two drive setup which mirrors the data, so you have redundancy. Never had issue in the last two years using it and they are good with their security updates.

Do you use DS Photo or DS File to back your photos up?

I'm undecided on what I'll use for backup if Samsung Cloud completely goes away. I was miffed when they forced OneDrive on me for photos last year on my Note 10+. My free storage is almost full for photos, so I may have to use Google One. I hate Google Photos more than I hate OneDrive though. I also use Smart Switch to my MBP, but don't back up often enough. I guess I could set a weekly backup reminder and dump all cloud storage altogether.

I for one still want to use Samsung Cloud as it's proven to be the best option for me.

Hopefully if enough people lobby Samsung they may keep it..... maybe.

Whatever functionality Samsung cloud provides especially for device backup, they will provide the same functionally if they switch to Microsoft cloud. So for an individual it shouldn't matter since all the things that were backing up for samsung cloud should back up to OneDrive.

For now, the integration may not be there but if they retire Samsung cloud there will be the same functionally just backed to Microsoft cloud. Samsung isn't going to remove the option to completely backup the device, just the backend will change from Samsung cloud to Microsoft cloud. At least if they have some common sense they will do that and I'm pretty sure it'll be like that.

I use both OneDrive aOnedrive Example.jpgnd Google Photos. OneDrive still does not back up from the SD card. Google Photos does.

I don't have a business anymore.
Got no use for Microsoft office.

Not paying 9.99 a month for Microsoft office.
Never even liked Microsoft products.
Hate Microsoft windows.

Guess I won't have anything backed up anymore.
