Wow that sucks when did you pre order? Yesterday? From what I see it's getting pushed back for pre orders from yesterday. Which model/color did you order?
Hopefully it's just a conservative estimate and you will receive on or before 23rd.

I place it yesterday all was good and said 23 until I cancelled and put new order then said Sept 4

Yeah I'm guessing they are filling up the pre order stock pretty quick especially for the unlocked model. With the $600 trade in, this time I'm seeing more people buying the unlocked model over the carrier model.

I'm glad I ordered black. I figured the colors would sell more. Besides, I slap on thick cases to the color is not really an issue.

Color shouldn't matter if you placed the pre order as soon as they opened. If you wait then yeah the more popular colors will start filling up quickly.

That's not too bad. I remember when I got my iPhone 7 Plus, the Jet Black color took me almost 3 months to get.

That was back when iPhone preorder dates got pushed back within 30 minutes of going live. But yeah, that color was extremely difficult to get.
