Samsung (direct from them): Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

Meh... I don't care when it gets here really.... I have my M S8+ anyway until then. Most of you shouldn't either to be honest. It's a phone. You'll survive the wait. You've survived this long without it.

Same here to be honest. I'm fine with my S8+ until then.
Still a bit disappointed but its whatever
 
Got a recent email from Samsung, anybody else got this???
"Thank you for your recent order of the Samsung Galaxy Note8. We regret to inform you that there is a shipping delay, your device will now be shipped out next week and you will get a shipment confirmation email with the tracking information. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay. The specific information for your order is as follows:

Please visit our customer care site in case you have any additional questions or concerns by clicking here. Thank you for your understanding, we appreciate your continued patience while we work to deliver your order."

I just got the same email... order date was 8/25. Ship date was supposed to be 9/11. Still no note. Former note 7er
 
The phone is in high demand guys. The delays are to be expected at this point. I know we're not used to this with Samsung phones, but realize that the Note hasn't been new for 2 years. If you didn't order early you can't expect to get the phone early.

But I did order early. I ordered the 25th of august. A day after presales went live. There's plenty of people who ordered in September that have their device. I assumed pre orders were first come first serve...I guess I was mistaken.

Good to know the Note 8 is selling well. Just think, it could've been gone for good after last year. Sorry for your misfortune, but I think people who are mad at Samsung for this need to do some reflection. One lesson is say many should learn if they are impatient, is ORDER FIRST DAY! I knew I wanted it asap, so I ordered as soon as preorders went live on 8/24. I was rewarded with a 9/7 delivery. Many complaints are from people who ordered days later. The Note has been absent 2 years. Demand was to be expected.

I still haven't received my note 8. Got the apology email too. I ordered on the 25th of august, was a former note 7 user. When I called yesterday they told me my phone has just been sitting in a warehouse and they aren't sure why. They told me it should have gone out with the first shipment
 
Got the same email. Ordered Verizon on 9/5 with note 7 deal. Was supposed to arrive by yesterday. I'm not real happy with this whole situation but I really feel for those that ordered on the first or second day and got this same email. That is ridiculous and there is no excuse when people that ordered later already have theirs.

Yep, like Jaker11 said, There are so many who ordered 8/24 just like you and they also received the email. So any frustration with Samsung is 100% justified and the only lesson to be learned is that preordering from them does might come with many complications. Some people who ordered in Sept even got them before those who ordered the first couple of days. I ordered late so don't mind the wait.
 
OK so I have a weird situation going on. I pre-ordered the Note 8 on 8/24. Sometime in the next week, there was a pre-authorization charge on my credit card from "Digital River Services" which my card company did not recognize and blocked it. They called me and asked if it was legit and when I didn't recognize it either, they cancelled my card and sent another one.

Well, it turns out it was damn Samsung making a charge for the Note 8 under Digital River Services name. And they didn't even authorize for the amount I thought they were going to, since they didn't send it overnight thought I paid for overnight.

Anyway, they still shipped the phone out to me, I have had the phone since 9/7. They have not made another charge on my credit card. I have not received any reminders about sending in the trade-in phone either.

What should I do? Anyone else have this happen?

If you log in to Samsung.com you should see the option to print a label and send in your trade. It will be right under where your tracking info was for the Note 8 and accessories.
 
I would contact Samsung for trade information. Supposedly you use the packaging your N8 came in.

Can't blame customers for a date promised my Samsung. Samsung dropped the ball. Unfortunately for the customers, they keep banging out great products, so we keep picking the ball back up.

so you basically got the phone for free?? I would assume that they would try to make another charge? I'm not sure what the procedure would be in your situation it comes down to your ethos I suppose? Lol.

I won't bore you with the whole story - which would fill pages, but right now they have a pending charge on an order THEY canceled and will not ship, and have canceled the charge on the NEW order that they told me to place. I'll skip the long story of lies and incompetence I have encountered there and simply ask if anyone can tell me what my best purchase alternative might be? I am on Verizon. I WAS taking advantage of the Note 7 promo, but I just don't think it's worth wasting any more time trying to deal with Samsung.com.

Thats too bad Samsung just held it in their warehouse. I think this is why people ordered from carriers. Past trouble or even trouble ordering made them change their minds.

I ordered the unlocked version on the 29th. I haven't received the email but called and was told of the delay. I guess Samsung under-forecasted the number of people who would opt to go non-carrier, since this is the first time it was available on day one. I'm trying to keep the delay in it's proper perspective; it's still just a phone. In a couple of years, I'll be getting rid of it for the Note X.

I think it's a combination of them under forecasting the unlocked and them having to keep the Carriers supply up. They can only make so many and everyone knows Samsung is going to keep the Carriers happy first.
